What is "Dutch Disease"?
A percentage of proceeds from oil, gold, diamonds, cocoa revenues etc should be deposited yearly in a Ghana Sovereign Wealth Fund account, a national 401k. This money will never be touched by any govt, period! This money will be invested all over the world in socially constructive projects. Projects to be excluded can include chemical nuclear projects, environmentally disastrous projects, product based exclusions, tobacco, walmart(human rights abuses). The ROI from this fund will be used to supplement infrastructure projects. Is Ghana a cursed, weak institution? Yes, I agree whole heartedly!

How to stop Corruption
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!
2. Enforce the Law: Offenders must face jail time, tickets/fines, sell assets to payback what has been stolen, name and shame offenders in media
3. Put ethical persons in positions of power,
4. yearly revenue audits brief

Come on, where do you live? Have you heard of the UK's State Pension, which is the closest equivalent of Ghana's SSNIT fund? It is run by an independent entity, even though it comes under the Department of Works and Pensions, not party hacks! Its head is appointed by an independent organisation which interviews people with proven ability, not based on where you come from.

I retired in September and got my pension in October! My sister retired in Ghana in November 2013 and to date she has not been paid a pesewa! That is how incompetence and thievery are spelt.

Living in a decent environment ought to give us better perspectives on national affairs than just insulting our betters for parochial tribal and political reasons!

A group of men go up into the mountains to go bear hunting. The first morning out, Bill goes out on his own. He comes to a clearing on a hill overlooking a field and sees a bear slowly strolling across the field. He gets the bear in his sites and fires. He then looks all around, but he can't find the bear.
All of a sudden, he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around, and there's the bear. The bear knocks the gun out of his hands, and Bill stands there shaking in his boots.
The bear yells at him, saying he's sick and tired of being shot at and gives Bill an ultimatum. The bear tells him that he can either drop to his knees and blow him, or the bear will eat his face.
Bill immediately drops to his knees and obliges the bear. The bear walks away contented and Bill find his way back to the cabin.
The next morning, Bill takes an even bigger gun with him and goes to the same place he saw the bear before. And sure enough, there was the bear strolling across the field again. Bill gets all excited, gets the bear in his sites and shoots! He looks all around, but there is no bear. All of a sudden he feels a tap on his shoulder again. He turns around, and, surprise, there's the bear. The bear looks at him, knocks the gun out of his hand, and says,''You know the routine.''
Bill drops to his knees and obliges the bear again. When he's done, the bear walks away smoking a cigarette and Bill stumbles back to his cabin.
Bill is all pissed off now. He grabs the biggest gun he can find and heads to the same spot again. And sure enough, there is the bear strolling across the field again. He gets the bear in his sites, and says to himself, ''Now this bear's gonna fuckin' get it!'' He pulls the trigger and, "Ka-BOOM!" He looks all over again, but no bear. Then, just as before, he feels the same tap at his shoulder. He turns around, there's the bear standing there with a big smirk on his face. He looks down at Bill and says, ''You're not in this for the hunting are you?'''

NDC members has accused Nana Akufo Addo of being behind the recent infantile disorder strike by some workers in the public and civil service to take their second tier to the house and manage it.
We stated the other time that it is proper for the state to even manage and be a custodian of the scheme so that the state will have some money at hand to borrow and pay interest on the same to workers.
What Nana Akufo Addo and others put together in 2007 was to deprive the state of that money, put it in the hand of some private people who will loan the money to the state for profit.
I was just speaking to one of Nana's supporters and she is so happy that SADA is being deprived on the ability to rear guinea foul. She is happy that we import guinea fouls from Holland.
It also looks like the clergy in Ghana have short memory and my beef is about the winner takes all issue they are banding around. It looks like the clergy was not in Ghana in 1969 when Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia dismissed 516 Ewhes of various world outlook from both the civil and public service. When President John Agyekum Kufuor was came to power in 2001 he did not only dismiss Ewhes and Ghas from both civil and public service, but went further to imprison them. In the case of Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata the state enterprises he established lead to the oil find in Ghana, his optic fiber project together with telecommunication was sold by the NPP for a hundred million dollars. However these clergy men and women who during NPP time pretends that they did not see nor hear anything are now telling us that the winner should not take all.
Ghana is practicing multiparty for of government and it means that parties come to power on what the electorate vote them to do, emanating from their manifesto. So imagine how can a person who does not accept the manifesto of a political party help that party to attain the goals of that manifesto. Until we seen the priest of Tingari conducting service in the Roman Catholic Church, then the clergy should stop wasting our ears about this the winner should not take all. Is there a case that a student who did not pass his examination given certificate in excellent because another student has scored that mark?
When are Ghanaians going to enrich their thought rather than making it more and more poor.

Well, well, well, the workers tier two pension funds to all intents and purposes has kissed the canvas of the legendary Mahama NDC gov't's looting. The looting "genie" aka "the dwarves at BoG"(apologies to Anita DeSoso) or better still "the apparition" have caused a disappearance of the workers pension funds, and significantly, the hands are off and moving onto to the next object. Ghana should just cry.
