i pity the future generation when i see all these mischief being done to our water bodies and environment ,people cannot use unemployment as an excuse to destroy our forest and river bodies,i feel so sad when i travel and come across how most rivers in Ghana has turned mud,our leaders lack the will to act and our traditional leaders mostly corrupt and accept bribes from these miners to the detriment of our future,i think the citizens must act now to save our future,if not Ghana is going to import water like Dubai in the near future,a word to a wise is enough.

The film is good, the talking is interesting, but that is all Ghana can do. People think it's a joke, very soon we would have borrow money from the international community to import fresh water.

It's the galamsey that operate with impunity, pollute with mercury (the big miners don't even use mercury) & cyanide, destroy farms, don't pay royalties and taxes and do absolutely fucking nothing for the local communities except pay off a few big men.
Wake up and be educated fool. If you don't believe, go look for yourself.

Our upbringing is the problem we are facing today. We as people are not thought from infancy to plan on long term bases. The reason we see the rush for money everywhere in our society, leading to problems like corruption and dishonesty. From the Government to the farmer almost every Ghana think only of the now,but not what will happen lets say in an hour let alone thinking of posterity.Nobody cares for life,we are dishonest,we abhor authority,we are lawless and above all very very corrupt. We need a total mental overhauling, because if we continue on this path,I am afraid,we may endup being worse than Somalia in sometime to come.

Has this film been shown toPresident John Mahama and his ministers? I strongly suggest it must be shown to all the MPs and especially chiefs under whose noses these destructive acts are being performed especially the greedy and heartless Okyehene who claims to be an environmentalist and goes about giving useless lectures on environmental protection.

With obviously no commitment from government to check the looting of our natural resources, the indifference of the security agencies, connivance of chiefs and greed of politicians resulting in the destruction of the future of the common man, the youth ,especially, student organizations, would have to rise up and aggressively protect our heritage. The government is behaving as if there is no law and order. The Armed Forces should have been deployed years ago.
What is the use of a government which cannot protect the natural resources of a country ?

I think the Govt and stakeholder should deal with the activities of illegal mining. The problem is that in Ghana any time we talk of environmental destruction we only look at small scale mining activities. In fact, if we are serious about protecting water bodies and our forest then we should ban surface mining completely. I was born and raised in Tarkwa and At 46 years still very young but I have witnessed some of the worst environmental degradations and pollution of water bodies by goldfields in the Tarkwa area. Forestry, coconut and Palm plantains, rivers and streams all have been destroyed. And this has been going on for decades. The railway line from Tarkwa to Prestea was destroyed all in the name surface mining. I wonder why this cause to creating awareness is always so bias and focuses on small scale mining. Let's all begin look at the big picture and review our mining policies and deal with the issues whether it is coming from a multination company or a local small scale mine. I wish that the Govt begins to issue mining permits only for underground mining.
