The ghana taxpayer can't afford to pay their round trip first class plane fare, 5star hotel bills, food and boarding and still give them huge appearance fees. Its the nature of the GFA or government of Ghana to delay payments. They see it as not theirs so why not delay them as punishment of success. A slavery mentality which spoils development on all sectors of the economy.

Exactly my point?! These officials are answerable to themselves. They arrogate to themselves the power of thievery. They top load delegations of so called handlers, who in most instances turn out to be wives mistresses, actors, actresses. For a country like Ghana with grinding problems of development, I cannot understand why we would have more official delegates than those accompanying the USA soccer team to Brazil. Never mind that Americans travel a fraction of the distance Ghanaians have had to travel. There is no probity and there is no accountability. To date we do not know who paid whom with regards to the specific amount Nyantakyi and his cohorts took. Revenue from international contest is for the nation. The money is generated for the nation. The players work for the nation. The contract is between the Black Stars of Ghana and an international football organization. Fifa has its own soiled hands with slippery regulations that lead to a cesspool of corruption. However, even small countries like Costa Rica that have well place organization, are able to achieve maximum results because of their efficiency and accountability. Today Ghana’s most popular sport is led by officials who shamelessly parade with the team. There is deep cynicism when the GFA president is caught on tape during a conversation about match fixing. Predictably, he was declared innocent by GFA.

This does help when it comes to business and personal relationships on the global level. If someone has heard of your country, they are more likely to feel comfortable dealing with you.

Why do we have to pamper football players and continue to spend ridiculous amounts of money on soccer and obtain no dividends. For many 19yrs of AFRC/P-NDC rule, Ghana couldn't go to any World Cup, until Kuffour and his smart ministers and the NPP arrived on scene. In those ugly years bonus were seldom discussed and that's what the NDC is trying to do here once again. I feel sorry for Coach Avram Grant.

In 2005, each Black Stars player received $8,000 + $10,000 when Ghana beat Cape Verde in their last qualification match. The rest is history. So, this is why the WC-2014 commission is asking GFA to surrender all WC monies paid by FIFA. It's funny!

And NDC is hoping that Ghana wins the AFCON-2015 Trophy and bring home some joy. Hmmm! You see, governance or ruling a country isn't force; John Mahama should step down if he can't manage or run Ghana's business well.

I simply don't know any Professional Footballer, who'd risk himself to participate in any tough tournment like the AFCON for peanuts. It's pathetic to read such a story. Maybe it's just for jokes, or maybe the players intend to play for free. Or maybe I'm being stupid! John Mahama is a complete failure!
