Some of the principal towns of the Likpes are Likpe Bala, Likpe Mantey and Likpe Kukurantumi and others.Please not all people from the Volta region are Ewes or ayigbes. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. If a big portion of the TVT had not been added to the Northern Region and now Upper East, even the capital of the Dagbon, Yendi, and all the way to Mamprusi land and all those enumerable ethnic groups up there would have been part of the VR! But they are well represented in the present VR, at the northern part.

So this ignorant moron can only find this human story news as another excuse to heap insults on "Ewes" - oh! "Ayigbes" - completely unaware that the real people tagged Ayigbes are descendants of Ga-Adangme fugitives from the Akwamu wars who settled amongst Ewe speakers and intermarried. I have one of them as a customer. She's Ga as they come, her family being among those who returned to found Osu-Anouho (Anexo)in Accra long ago. You have to listen to her recount their history. The ewes constitute about two-thirds of the entire region and the rest from the northern part of the region, are guans or akans. Dr Obed Asamoah is from Likpe, a guan not an ewe. He does not speak ewe. The chiefs of Likpe use the title Nana, not even Togbe like the ewes. Dr Kwabena Adjei is also another guan from Nkonya. The only region with ONE ethnic group is Ashanti Region. All the other regions have diverse ethnic groups. e. g. Eastern Region has Akuapems, Krobos, Akwamus, Ashantis (New Juaben) and Kwahus. Please know your history!

volta region its only the people from
Jasikan, Worawora, Kejebi and the Krachis
who don't behave like the ewes.They are
the ones who usually say they are not
ewes but the rest accept the argument as
ewes.So they need to teach Ghanaians
about their real ethnicity to make the
difference.I know people from Kpando,
Hohoe, Anfoega, and around that area are nice and loving people who don't hate like the real ewes.Those from the northern and mid volta are different from those from the sourthern Volta.

I beg to disagree on one issue.

First of all, all Twi speakers, with some exceptions, belong to one ethnic group, Akan, diverse though the derivation of the Twi speakers today. The various units constitute tribes within the bigger Akan ethnic group. When I say some exceptions, I have in mind Guan stock which now use Twi as their lingua franca. The Guan Akuapems, for instance, as opposed to the Akyem Akuapems, who are truly Akans.

Specifically on Asante, 33% of them had been estimated to be of slave origins, coming from near and far. Then we have others like the Akyem war captives who were resettled in Asante Akyem. In the past, the dreaded "afisen" taboo enjoined all to be regarded as "Asante", but the fact remains that they come from different tribes (Akan) and ethnic(non-Akan) groups.

We can work out the details if need be, by breaking the afisem taboo.:-)

Btw, are sure Dr Asamoah can't speak Ewe. They have their own language but they also learn to speak Ewe, as I found out when at Mawuli School, Ho.

Amidu is OK and he should have been the president instead of clueless Mahama.

As for Asamoah the greedy hypocrite loathed by his own people for negligence, the least said of him the better.
