The IGP,Regional Police Commanders,Regional Ministers and Nananom are all aware of this shameful and destructive behaviour but they don't care.

Thank you very much for stepping your legs down to help develop our motherland Ghana...infect Ghana is getting behind..recently I came home and how some of the police personals treat some of us is really bad..my last day at Accra before I flew back to Germany I was in a taxi with my white lady and we got stopped just 10m away from papaye in osu ""snabcheck"" and this policeman ask me to put my hands up and wanted to search me and you know what he did he wanted to put wee in my pocket so I resisted his command and he got provoked and at the end he slapped me and handcuffed me and we ended at at the police station...at the station I was asked to empty my pocket and I did and nothing was found,after an hour one SGT came and I begged him that I am flying tomorrow and please he should let me go but that Cpl who slapped me said no he will process me for court for insulting police...Hmm by then I told him how can I insult police whiles all my relatives are in the service..my father was inspector and my 2 brothers are still in the service whiles my uncle is in the service UNcle Ampeh BEnin...
So they told me then I need to pay because my name is in the station diary and tomorrow they will give it I the station command to mal everything cool###
I had wanted to report them the next day but there were no time to do so because of my flight...So please Ghana is getting behind please Mr Awuni help help help and let fish out the corrupt so called police officers..

the police service rather means the fine. the fucking fine. why should any officer take money from anyone at all? why cant there be tickets issued and recorded in a database (which is at least updated everyday) until its paid?

Even before you are charged to court, you report to the police everyday for about 3 days. For everyday you go, you have to wait at the police station sometimes for a whole day because the officer who arrested you is on road check duties and until he returns no one will attend to you, yet you have to report daily. sometimes he travels for funerals. When finally you go to court, you are not told what time your case will be called. You can go at 7 a.m. and your case will be called at 3 p.m. Sometimes the one handlingyour case does not even show up and the case gets postponed. Adam, gladly get ypurself caught and you will see what i am talking about.

The earlier this law is implemented the better for all, including honest policemen who want to strictly enforce the law. The current situation breeds corrupt practices, because to avoid the delays, one is forced to pay "something" to the police and move on.

this Actions of the Ghana Police tells it all to those who want to implement the spot fines that -the Ghana Police cannot be trusted so they dare not continue to make that implementations.

besides ,that 500, 600 (5million, 6million) spot fines is the most wicked, economical untllegent, stupid for someone to come out of such huge Money and figure to be paid at a spot by common trafic offends.
even if you came out of 100 gh cedis it must be a court fine as the highset the motoist must pay for the offends.

I think that those lazy parliamentarians must differentiate between criminal offends and trafic offends .

The highest punishment to a trafic offender is to suspend him of driven for a period of 1-2 years by court order but not collecting such huge amount of Money from him/her. even in Suspension bylaws the offends must be catigoried -where in most cases -is drink and drive to cause a fatal accident. apart from this i dont see any offends that must attract a Spot fines of above 50GH cedis.

Ghana Standard board must start scrutinising the academias who Pop up on political Scene to hold public Offices because their intellegents of solving the Problems in the Country is very low as compare to a Primary lerner. most of them are certificate buyers or fake certificate and degree holders- that is why i think they have not able to get it right when it Comes to solutions

what about prison time? if goat and chicken thieves are getting imprison for ten to twenty years for such petty crimes then any police officer caught in the act of extortion should be imprisoned 20 to 40 years since they have been sworn to uphold the laws of the country (high standard). its time for Ghana to open a police internal affairs unit separate from the police force to investigate police malpractices and corruptions reported by citizens.

Ghana police are corrupt since when did this man realize that police exort bribe? He is aware long time and whatever proceeds from hey got from it he has a share from it. If today, he has noticed that what they are doing is not good and he wants to do something about it , so be it. In US no police will collect money from drivers instead they give out tickets for you to defend yourself in court if you are found guilty you pay a fine to the county . the money goes to the state or the county for development it doesn't go to any individual pockets like what happens in Ghana . It is a big shame to police institution ALMOST every personnel in Ghana is corrupt not even single out the police ministers they are part of the corrupt act. May the good Lord have mercy on them and help them change their bad attitudes. Unto the drivers too let them be law abiding people do the right thing at all times. In US every driver obeys the traffic laws failure to do that will end up you in troubles so as much as we reprimand the police , we should also talk against some attitudes of some drivers in Ghana sometimes they give the money to the police it is a bad attitudes
