Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.

“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”

However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

Could you also remember that Rawlings used to incite TUC workers to strike against Liman's government to over throw it fraudulently? And could you remember that he used to take 'Kenkey' to Legon to demonstrate how the size had shrunk under Liman and we ended up in the "Rawlings's Chain" but nobody could talk? Could you further remember that Acheampong and Rawlings used the mild IMF conditions under Busia and Liman respectively as justifications for overthrowing their governments deceitfully? Could you still remember that PNDC reintroduced IMF and the World Bank with more stringent conditions after the coup without apologizing to Liman?

I don't know what the leftists are talking about, and I don't believe that NPP is behind the present wave of strikes either. As far as I know, NPP is only highlighting the failings and excesses of the NDC government, hopping that they would translate into votes for their party in the next elections. And that is, in fact, genuine and legitimate politics since the failings are true and not false. Everybody in Ghana knows that cost of living under this NDC government is unbearable, and NPP is democratically seizing the opportunity to convince the electorate not to vote for NDC in the next elections.

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with an opposition highlighting the failings of an incapable government to wrestle power from it democratically. NDC is the cause of the strikes because of the higher levels of corruption, over spending, reckless borrowing and overall economic mismanagement that have brought untold hardship on Ghanaians.

Instead of accepting the truth and doing something about it, they are calling you names, I was not least expecting it. Everybody knows NDC do not want to hear the TRUTH but TRUTH is only ONE; and it should be told no matter how bitter it is. NDC as a government are FULL OF LIERS from the President down to the least supporter of that party. Within the first two years of them in government they have put up a $20 million office. This is a party that could not even pay their rent when they were in opposition, where did they get the money to build this edifice? The funny thing about this building was that when a newspaper reported the building was for NDC, they FLATLY DENIED IT that it was their building until the yesterday defeated Boateng Gyang used it as some of his achievements in NDC when he was seeking re-election. What a BUNCH OF LIEERS; and I am sure Ghanaians are discerners and will PAY THEM BACK IN 2016. Time will tell.

You wanted cheap fame and instead you got humiliated and had to be whisked away, first in our political history. You could have chosen to say worst than that but certainly not on that platform. Really you need to rise up and see for yourself and this hasn't got anything to do with disabilities, it's the fact. What you did was like insulting somebody in his own house .on visitation. General Greenstreet spoke the truth and the truth naturally hurts to whom it is told. Even if Greenstreet had chosen to praise sing the NDC , that would still not change the truth about the state of Ghana's economy. Why have the NDC not descended on JJ for saying most of the challenges Ghanaians are facing today is due to some unscrupulous NDC politicians?
Are they afraid of Papa Jay? Don't we experience Dumsor Dumsor ? Isn't there rampant corruption in the govt? Are Ghanaians not feeling more impoverished ?

Ivor should be applauded for having the courage to speak his mind, something I believe may be shared by many. Ivor should not be condemned by anyone, for this is what democracy is all about. people should not only say things that politicians may want to hear, but also must be bold enough to speak their minds even if those views appear to cut like a knife. Now, would the NPP have allowed any other party representative to make such utterances at its congress? I doubt it. Unlike the NPP which has no tolerance for opposing views, the NDC just demonstrated that it has room for others with opposing views.

Sometimes in life, we need someone to awaken us so we do the right things and that is exactly what Mr. Greenstreet did. It may not be the right forum but his words will not have the same impact at any other forum. Looks like the NDC is measuring the progress in Ghana by their own successes and not from the point of view of the ordinary Ghanaian. Mr. Greenstreet gave then the view of the average Ghanaian and now it is now up to them to do something about it.
