  The sycophant KB Ashanti is a disgrace. How can any reasonable human being in his right mind justify communist dictatorship and tyranny? Nkrumah did not have any excuse for doing what he did, except that he was preparing the ground with a series of unprovoked actions to create one party state and declare himself president for life.
  
  Communist ideology doesn't have a place for opposition in the system. Have you ever heard of a communist democratic country with an opposition to check excesses of the government? Nkrumah chose communism as a means of keeping himself in power forever. He therefore imposed the Detention without Trial Act only to gag everybody in Ghana, create a communist dictatorship and turn himself into president for life. This is because, communists don't share power.
  
  The mere fact that Rawlings still goes about talking about democracy and the rule of law is an insult to the intelligence of all Ghanaians. Someone who hijacked and impeded our development for almost 20years with crimes, dictatorship and tyranny, the like of which Ghanaians may never experience again, can claim to be a national hero talking nonsense any time he opens his month. He even formed an artificial party with state power and resources called NDC, followed by stomach politicians and sycophants.
  
  Even Nkrumah's Communist dictatorship was milder compared to that of Rawlings. But birds of the same feathers flock together since Rawlings also seized power claiming to be communist and unleashed a Cuban-style Communist dictatorship on

  Why African leaders always want to be called presidents and not prime ministers? With the exception of the French speaking countries, whose systems have a president with a chosen prime minister to run the day to day affairs of the country, almost all the English speaking African countries inherited the prime ministerial parliamentary system. After independence, most of them chose or imposed the presidential system on their people with vast powers not necessary for development of their countries, and without a strong parliament to check the executive and abuse of power. Frankly, the presidential system is too expensive and too imperial for a small country like Ghana.

  Next year 2015 most of congress (senate and House of Reps) will be from the opposition Republicans so their you will see gridlock..Nothing will probably happen in 2015 because every bill Republicans try to pass Obama with threat to over-ride...and the ANything Obama try to do Republicans will try to stop...So USA works very different than Ghana...Normally i thought countrys with Parliments had Prime ministers!...Ghana seems to be mixture of europe system and american system
