If there is any embarrassment, it falls squarely on Rawlings and people like him who thought they can nudge or coax her to tow a certain line by calling her out in public. Did Rawlings consult or get her permission before he went out there to call her out? If anything, her sticking to her stance goes to show she has a very independent mind and does not need NDC lackeys like Ben Ephson to bend her resolve to suit their grand political schemes. Leave Konadu alone you NDC apologetic appeaser. You and Kwesi Pratt are poor excuse for upright journalists. You are nothing more than sellouts who will jump at any carrots dangled in front of you.

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”

However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

Corney, respecting the right of the individual to free speech and association, does not flow into the conclusion that I have to like the person or not. I disagree with you 9 out 10 on most political discourse. It does not mean I hate you or I have to like you. It is called agreeing to disagree or disagreeing to agree. People are entitled to their own different opinions even when the facts they are basing their opinions on are the same, and do not break any law.

Nana Konadu says she has parted company with NDC. She hasn't broken any law, and does not need to abide by Ben Ephson's moral values, from which he draws his own notions of embarrassment.

I wish you guys will respect her wishes and opinion, instead of using all manner of public trickery and coaxing to make her look bad if she says no. You guys have embarrassed yourselves for not letting her be. Which party one joins is not by force.Let the NDC leave her alone. Nana Konadu walked away on her own volition and it should not be the responsibility of anyone to invite her back, and as her husband, he should have known that her position has not changed. NDC is still better off without Konadu.

When she tested her popularity as to her chances of ever becoming a flagbearer, she suffered an embarrassing whitewash from some of the same people he claimed to have helped. They taught her a lifetime lesson that she couldn't have learnt anywhere.

Mr. Rawlings does not believe in humility, and between herself and the late Professor Mills, she couldn't believe that humility won the battle.

Simply put, this woman needs help, perhaps deliverance. Members of her own party, the NDC and the NPP would have ridicule her even though outwardly some would show support and sympathy. Nana Konadu is aware she has no clout to make it in the NDC, so she would be content to remain in her isolated corner in the NDP.

Oh, she calls the NDC armed robbers who have taken over her property, that's why she is not coming. Little did she know that her husband led the gang of the armed robbers. Would she continue to love him (J.J.)? Nana Kponadu is simply confused. She has lost everything, including what her husband had tried to save for her last Saturday. It's a big shame!

Whilst not endorsing the uncalled for human rights abuses, wholesale looting of both private and public coffers alike by the self-appointed redeemers, vandalism and naive onslaught on private business ownership which characterized it,the unison in abhorring corruption in public places by all and sundry,has disappeared into thin air overnight.The end result being the glorified stealing of our monies.The moral decadence of our time!
Although,as a Ghanaian,i will not give my unflinching support to Nana Konadu because of the question marks at the end of her acquisition of Nsawam Cannery and the activities of the 31st December Women's Movement which brand her as a hypocrite,her decision boils down to a matter of show me your friend,and i will show you your character, and not wanting to be guilty by association.Only the family and friends of John Mahama will want to associate themselves with the wanton and shameful corruption being perpetrated against Ghanaians under his watch.

What is this so-called pollster Ben Ephson's interest in this whole matter? Because it doesn't make any sense.
Maybe this so-called pollster just does not get it and it needs to be spelled out to him in very clear, unambigous and very uncertain terms, that, Ghana and Ghanaians have had it up to here with the crass incompetence and ineptness, the outrageous and horrendous looting and thievery as well as the obnoxious lies and propaganda of the Mahama NDC gov't, and whether Nana Konadu returns to the NDC or not, come hell or high water, the Mahama NDC gov't is leaving gov't in 2016.

The decision by the President of the 31st December Women’s Movement, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, to defy all warnings not to set foot in Cape Coast, as part of her nationwide ‘Thank you tour’, nearly resulted in a bloody clash between Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) and the Cape Coast constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the early hours of Saturday.
A few weeks ago, 14 out of nineteen 31st December Women’s Movement Organisers in the Central Region issued a press statement advising Nana Konadu not to come to the region with her ‘thank you tour’, because she had been using the platform to rather incite the youth against the leadership of the party.
“Our concern is the message she is giving to her followers and the general public, such as Ghana is a very expensive African country to live in, things are getting very expensive in the country under the Mills administration, among others,” the organisers noted in their statement.
The women Organisers also regretted the refusal of their President (Nana Konadu) to disband FONKAR, which campaigned for her during the party’s presidential primary, when she was the same person who demanded that the ‘Veranda Boys and Girls’ and ‘Friends of Atta Mills’ among others, be banned immediately the party retuned from congress in 2000.
They, therefore, advised her not to come to Cape Coast for any ‘thank you tour,’ because they would not welcome her. A few days later, the 31st December branch in the Brong Ahafo Region also issued a press statement attacking their leader for using FONKAR to pursue her own destructive agenda against the NDC.
The statement, signed by the Brong-Ahafo Regional Coordinator of the Movement, Madam Comfort Ackah, noted that Nana Konadu should rather use her status as the former first lady of this country for eight years on the ticket of the NDC to preach unity, after the party’s National Special Delegates’ Congress, rather than sow seeds of discord.
They noted that it was unfortunate for the former First Lady and her cohorts to adopt such a divisive means to undermine the President Mills led government, just because she lost in the contest for the flagbearership.
The women, therefore, called for the disbandment of FONKAR and all other splinter groups within the NDC, for peace and unity to prevail, and to ensure that victory is guaranteed in the 2012 general elections. “FONKAR and all other splinter groups within the party must be stopped, for the party to thrive in unity for victory in 2012,” they stressed.
Nana Konadu, who has been fighting for women’s empowerment ever since her husband, Jerry Rawlings, took over the reins of the country in 1981 would, however, not listen to the advice, and decided to take her tour to the Central Region.
FONKAR, her campaign team, subsequently booked the Cape Coast Town Hall for her to address the supporters, and to also thank them for voting for her during the recent NDC National Delegates Congress held in Sunyani.
But, before the supporters, who were bused in from the various constituencies in the region, could troop to the Town Hall, some machomen had already barricaded the area, and also closed the main door to the venue of the event.
According to the constituency chairman of the party, Elvis Amoase, his outfit was not aware that the former first lady was going to organise a programme of that sort in the name of the party.
His checks at both Regional and National secretariats of the party also drew blank, as none of the executives of the party was aware of the founder’s wife’s presence in the region.
According to Amoase, who spoke on various radio stations in Accra on Saturday, after the regional and national executives failed to confirm the activities of the former First Lady, and the fact that she had decorated the Town Hall with party colours, when the party itself was not aware of her mission, they decided to stop her meeting, by locking up the hall.
Amoase noted that Nana Konadu had been using the ‘thank you tour’ to launch blistering attacks on a government that has been formed by the very party she belongs to.
FONKAR, which coordinates the campaign activities of Nana Konadu, also argued that the Town Hall does not belong to NDC as a political party, but the Metropolitan Assembly, and that since they had already paid for the use of the hall, their meeting would go ahead.
The misunderstanding between the two combatants nearly resulted in a fatal clash, compelling a police reinforcement team to intervene, but they did not make any arrests.
Nana Konadu, who was not at the scene before the misunderstanding arose between her supporters and the constituency executives, later arrived, but did not get the opportunity to address the supporters in the hall. With the heavy presence of the police, Nana Konadu stood in front the Town Hall and thanked her supporters for voting for her.
The spokesman for the Rawlings, Mr. Kofi Adams, condemned the behaviour of the party people, and warned that no party member could stop Nana Konadu from pursing her political ambition, noting that the use of machomen was alien to the NDC.
Nana Konadu seems to have incurred the wrath of the NDC leaders, when she decided against all protestations, to contest President Mills in the NDC presidential primary. The party leaders argued that such precedence had never occurred in the political history of the country, where a sitting president is contested.
The President of the 31st December Women’s Movement, who, together with her husband, Mr. Jerry John Rawlings, vowed to take back the party, defied all the warnings and went ahead to contest in the primary.
She, however, suffered a humiliating defeat, as she could only garner 91 votes, which constituted 3.1% of the valid votes cast. The former NDC Vice Chairperson, who was apparently, dissatisfied with the outcome of the election, left the congress ground immediately the results were declared.
As a result of this attitude, many political observers thought she and her husband would desert the NDC to form their own party, but she bounced back weeks later to announce that she was still with the NDC family, and that she and the husband would stay and fight against injustices going on in the party.
She subsequently started a nationwide tour to thank all those who voted for her, but without the support of Mr. Rawlings, who has announced a temporary retirement from Ghanaian politics, to write his book.

Ben Ephson, there is simply no logic in what you are saying. Did she leave the party based on the principles she believes in or to let the party lose the elections? If the lady does not agree with the husband, how does that constitute an embarrassment to the Rawlings? Or you are saying this because she is a woman, and you think women do not have minds of their own and must always follow what the husband says even if she does not share the same view? What is this?
