If the government does not want anybody to talk about the exorbitant cost of the interchange and the possibility of massive corruption and huge kickbacks, it should have come clean from the beginning; from the bidding process to the award of the contract.

If you have an open bidding process in which three or more companies bid for a project, and the submitted tender documents opened in front of all representatives of the contractors that took part in the process, and you award the contract to one of the companies based on best technical specifications and reasonable lower cost, the amount you award the contract will be known to even the other contractors and it will not be difficult for the government to release it.

How can we award contract to a company and the work is ongoing without knowing exactly how much we've awarded it, and we're still talking about projected figures and so on? I believe Nana is hitting the nail on the head. There is too much obscurity and lack of transparency in awarding the project, and we're afraid that Ghanaians may not be getting value for their money.

She was the same person, who earlier on lamented that there was too much congestion in Accra, which always leads to wast of fuel. If Nana Konadu wanted a little logic to be seen in her submission, then she needed not to turn round to condemn a major project that is aimed at solving a problem she complained about. Nana Konadu is just an arrogant, shameless lady. I was surprise when I heard her say that politicians must keep their opponents closer, and take their criticisms in good faith.Yes, she was right, but WAS SHE DOING SAME TO NPP WHEN SHE WAS IN THE NDC? Well then, try and find out how much of a prize-tag the Nsawam-Kumasi road project is demanding before completion as to that of the circle interchange which are both equally necessary to the Ghanaian taxpayers and then come back and comment appropriately further.

The kumasi road connects the ports to the rest of the country and our neighbouring countries. It connects to food producers, it facilitates development in the rest of the country. The project by it self will achieve all this. The circle interchange on its own will move traffic from one part of Accra to another if similar projects are not implemented in kaneshie, dansoman and accra central.
Whilst no appraisals of the projects have yet been published, it goes without saying that the scale of the kumasi road project suggests bigger volume of traffic and economic benefit.

Cosidering the amount of lives being spared or people getting killed on this Accra to Kumasi road it is appropriate to say the purpose would have been well served. May be the politicians have enough money to fly kumasi to Accra or have expensive 4x4 cars to drive through the road without feeling how the regular cars go through. Fixing and completing Accra to Kumasi road would have save lives and increase business between Accra and Kumasi.

Of course I agree with her that the Nsawam-Kumasi portion of the road that is stalled should be finished. And that any project once stated must be finished. But first, how does one start a project and does not ensure that there will be funding to complete it. That is criminal and I don't care which government it is. So, commentators after me, do not jump on me an try to tear me up with insults. Think like me as a Ghanaian and do not play politics. Take note that apart from the uncompleted projects we do need numerous other new projects as have been announced and are progressing-the Kasoa flyover project, a Tema Roundabout flyover project, a flyover at 37 junction, redesigning of the botched Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout-Flyover project, completion of the so-called eastern corridor project (which to me should actually start at the Tema Roundabout end of the Akosombo road and include the Kpong, Juapong etc sections as being part of the Eastern Corridor, because some of these portions are really in a horrible state)and many more such. Madam, if Mahama decides to only complete stalled projects, you wold be one of the first to scream and yell murder that he has not done anything, not added any project since he asumed power. Hypocrites, shame on you all politicians whether NDC, NPP, CPP or Nana Konadu!! You like playing on the backs of we the poor Ghanaian!

Today, Kumasi road should be completed before the hardship of Accra road users be taken care of. Where was Kumasi road when her husband built Sankara(King Tackie Tawiah) overpass?

She made an ass of herself in NDC with Mills and has not learnt any lessons.
The thins she will say during the 2016 election campaign will put the final nail to her coffin.

Journalists, pls grant her more interviews for Ghanaians to see what she is made of. I do not see what makes her think so highly of herself.

Mahama, the next important place to fix is the Tema motorway roundabout. That place costs the country millions a day in terms of delays, ware and tier, diesel and petrol, etc. etc...

I have always maintained that the very people who have occupied and filled up the intellectual and political elite class have been more of a danger to Ghana than even our worst external enemies of the colonial slave traders. If after 55+years of independence there is no political party that is capable of knowing how to grow Ghana except whip up tribal and political party sentiments then those who look for every reason under rocks to justify the 1966 coup do need their heads examined. Ghana's pretentious educated class knows good and darn well that China, a communist one party nation is the only nation that is a threat to surpass the USA in a host of areas. Then there is still Russia and other socialist and communist nations which are doing far better than Ghana developmentally. So what has Ghana gained and achieved over the past +45yeaRd after the 1966 coup? There are those who will list freedom of speech and assembly, press freedoms, multi-party system and a host of other attributes of democracy but unaware of the fallacies and historical reasons behind those often cited democratic attributes. Does anyone in Ghana think anyone in Ghana can walk into a police station or the barracks of any of the Ghana Armed forces and tell them off and come out intact? Can anyone gain access to parliament and call all of them fools without exception? Is there any news outlet in Ghana that is not in the pocket of the NDC and NPP? Is the court system in Ghana not a tool of the rich and powerful to stifle the poor? Konadu Agyeman Rawlings used the tools her husband crafted to take control of Nkrumah era assets and manipulated government initiated contracts to have the national government on the hook for a loan her privately acquired business ventures would request of government.
Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has repeatedly shown that there are tribes in Ghana that continues to be blinded by money and are less interested in intellect, intellectual concepts, wisdom and principles. Why would this lackey of a woman from a political party with hope to occupy the office of Ghana Presidency when she never had the intellect of a weasel? Why did she not sell Ghana to Europe when she had a chance? I know she needed to steal and get rich first and with any hope of gaining any meaningful power seem to be diminishing this zealot thinks it is time to denigrate black intelligence.
I have this to say to the NPP and NDC, stop your daydreams, put every projet on hold except for the full completion of an uninterruptible supply of power to every corner of Ghana and ask Vodafone to complete the backbone of Ghana's Telcom infrastructure using a minimum of 48 strands of fiber optic in the next 4-years. It is only when Ghana has electricity we can grow the economy while using CCTV and other monitoring systems to ensure the safety, health and security of Ghana while intra and inter office communications between government and private sectors generate their own footprints to stifle bribery and corruption at high places. The Whiteman cannot help us with things we are not willing to sacrifice for love of our own country.

Mahama started the project because, 1. His boys got a huge finder's fee for the loan. 2. His brothers firms is the main local contractor, meaning millions of dollars for them. Put in that context, it makes sense to the corrupt guys. And Ghana has been left poorer.
