If you say the police are useless I don't have a problem with that and if you want to attack the government on this I don't have a problem with that because we have a Minister of Interior who should make sure citizens are not treated like this and we have a whole ministry incharge of women but women are being treated in Ghana like this you cannot compare to even Afghanistan or Somalia.
It is sad the Eastern Region police came out to make this looks like a minor crime,this is what the Boko Haram people are doing,but not a Negborhood Watchdog committee members going beyond their limit,this is a serious crime that should see these idiots remain in jail up until they are tried and jailed,they are not only criminals but terrorists in that town.
How can this be happening in today's Ghana?

When we read the first story some of us knew something was wrong but thought the media was exaggerating the issue and after the police came out to make it looks like it was a mistake on the part of these criminals or it was as if they didn't know their mandate we believe the media was wrong but looking at this video,that police chief who came out to defend these terrorists does not deserve to by in command of any unit,he has compromised his position.

My very reason is that, some unscrupulous people in the system have been praying the planet Mar criss-crossing Jupiter for the malapropos happenings in Nigeria and of course perpetuated by Boko Haram, to spill over to Ghana so as they can use that as yet another yardstick to chastise Mahama's administration for doing very little for the teaming unemployed youths hence the unfortunate situation.

This above video could have been taken from anywhere on the continent of Africa and posted as some evidence to an offshoot of Boko Haram in the Eastern Regional enclave of our dear Ghana. We should be extremely careful with such reportage, people.

We don't even have Muslims in Ghana. Majority of the Muslim groups in Ghana are Hausa who are from Nigeria and Niger, chamba from Togo, zamramra from Mali etc. we don't have so go Muslims in Ghana here except a few dagombas.

General News of Friday, 26 December 2014 -No Boko Haram in Eastern Region - Ghana Police.The Ghana Police Service has denied the presence of a branch of Boko Haram, a militant Islamic insurgent group in Nigeria in any part of the Eastern Region, as speculated in the media.Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), James Abass- Abaah, Deputy Regional Commander, made this known at a news briefing in Koforidua.He explained that, in line with the police policy of allowing communities to form neighbourhood watch committee to assist the police to fight crime, residents of Akyem Ofoase Zongo in the Akyemansa District attempted to form one.

However, some members of the group over stepped the legal limit by constituting themselves into a vigilante and flogging people perceived to be law breakers without recourse to due process.
He said it was because of the flogging of the perceived law breakers that the Ofoase residents nicknamed them “Ofoase Boko Haram.”

The Deputy Regional Commander emphasized that those arrested have no link with Boko Haram or any other group either in Ghana or outside the country.
He said Boko Haram is a serious security issue in West Africa and cautioned the media not to trivialize the issue.
