Religion was meant to enlighten us by bringing us together as a people, by assisting us to realize our oneness as spirits, and, by reconciling us to our Maker.

My very reason is that, some unscrupulous people in the system have been praying the planet Mar criss-crossing Jupiter for the malapropos happenings in Nigeria and of course perpetuated by Boko Haram, to spill over to Ghana so as they can use that as yet another yardstick to chastise Mahama's administration for doing very little for the teaming unemployed youths hence the unfortunate situation.

The video making the rounds could have been taken from anywhere on the continent of Africa and posted as some evidence to an offshoot of Boko Haram in the Eastern Regional enclave of our dear Ghana. We should be extremely careful with such reportage, people.

My attention has been drawn to attempt by the Ghana Police Service and press release from some muslim leaders to discredit the Boko Haram story published on Tuesday in the Daily Heritage.

1: I want to state that due deligence was done before the story was published.Because after recieving the tip off from a resident in the community two weeks ago further checks and cross checks were done before myself and Ayeh informed the ER police command, and as a result,initiated investigations into the matter leading to the arrest of some members of the group call "Ofoase Boko Haram".

The police after its preliminary investigations relayed to Us through the PRO of the existance of the group allegedly being backed by the some muslim leaders in the community
The PRO further corroborated that the group aim at running pure muslim community hence muslims who defy their others were punished including a woman who alleged that she was beating 20 lashes each by members of the group for buying food from a christian.After all this briefing,I was given the greenlight to go ahead to publish the story by the police but with caution due to its sensitive nature.

Contracdictions and U-turn by the Police.

At a press confrence yesterday, the Deputy ER Police Commander ACP Abass confirmed that there is existence of such vigilante group but due to their floging activities that they were nicknamed 'Ofoase Boko Harram'.
But in a statement issued by the Zongo leaders in ofoase,they are denying the existence of any group in ofoase zongo.the question is if there is no such group in ofoase,how come has the police arrested 9 members of the group with others at large.
However.,in my publication I also stated that the group is call ofoase Boko haram and that has no symbiotic relation with Nigeria Boko Haram.

Secondly: a victim of the torture by the group has given hardcore evidence to the police and is currrently assisting in identifying the other members.She also confirmed in many radio stations that interviewed her over her ordeal and the activities of the ofoase boko haram.

The ER Police Commander DCOP Yaagy Akuriba on starr fm confirmed that the police have identified such group but are in control with some members arrested.

The leaders in ofoase zongo are alleged to have hands in the formation of the group (Police Source) hence trying to shield the indicted members for fear of being exposed.
All that am saying is that the police must take the matter serious even in a as much as it attempt to allay public fear And deal with the issue instead of attacking the Paper.

But don't get petty with a national security issue. In localities where this canker gained head it started and festered with denials. Community members keeping quite and not wanting to give away perpetrators. This is what the police and the nation's security should investigate and uproot. Armchair commentators like you who know nowhere and nothing beyond your bedrooms and villages (and the farthest you've been is your JHS) shouldn't fan bigotry in times when the world wants peace.
In any case, if many of your compatriots live in a locality outside of your own you form a community and appoint/elect leaders including a chief. So you have Zongo chiefs, Ewe chief, Yuruba chief, etc in several Ghanaian towns and cities.
But the issue under discussion is religious fanaticism and security; let's dwell on that. Don't fan tribalism; it helps no one.

Any religion that maims, torture, kill and destroy lives of the weak and poor, especially that of women and children is not worth being practicing, so guys becareful not to twist what the prophet teaches in the KORAN. I believe what he said is all about love and care.
And to you the leaders of Ofoase Zongo, if you really claim yourselves to be leaders of the aforementioned community then you are to be held accountable to any eventualities in the community. May the ALMIGHTY ONE
