These nations with natural resource wealth on average have worse financial economies than nations who don't. Why you ask? Weak institutions, corruption, bad governors, managers!

What is "Dutch Disease"?
A percentage of proceeds from oil, gold, diamonds, cocoa revenues etc should be deposited yearly in a Ghana Sovereign Wealth Fund account, a national 401k. This money will never be touched by any govt, period! This money will be invested all over the world in socially constructive projects. Projects to be excluded can include chemical nuclear projects, environmentally disastrous projects, product based exclusions, tobacco, walmart(human rights abuses). The ROI from this fund will be used to supplement infrastructure projects. Is Ghana a cursed, weak institution? Yes, I agree whole heartedly!

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION!
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!
2. Enforce the Law: Offenders must face jail time, tickets/fines, sell assets to payback what has been stolen, name and shame offenders in media
3. Put ethical persons in positions of power,
4. yearly revenue audits brief
5.NPP: Narcotic Peddlers Party, NDC: Niggas Deep in Corruption

Equalizing the guilt between the various political parties is based on the principle 2 wrongs = right but that superficial bull shit will not fly no more. NDC lies when they tell us Mahama was Atta Mills choice of successor , when he was alive we all remember Mahama himself saying he had no ambition to stay in office after the mandate of Mills but when he realized Mills has authorized investigations into his blatant corruption he used his moslem mafia security boys to kill his boss . Yeltsin of Russia realizing he was too sick to continue named Putin as his successor , Mills did not name Mahama because he realized the treacherous criminal should never be entrusted with the presidency. Now we have parallel sinister behind the scenes control of the presidency by the brothers Mahama and their cronies such as Ayawaso North MP Maj.(Dr.) Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed (rtd.)who by the way is also minister of state in charge of Development Authorities. This fake minister has been seen in Italy , Turkey , Iran , India the former Yugoslavia , Germany etc stashing away Mahama cash in Switzerland , Dubai and Hong Kong .Just imagine what does this minister of state have doing traveling to all these countries and being seen socializing with criminals , mafiosi and dangerously toxic mercenaries , in fact we are told NATO has been observing the activities of this criminal rather closely. Yes we shall expose here over the next few months the activities of these individuals and if this man dares say we are lying let him show his passport and release for the public his official reports of all these trips . Yes Mahama is more than corrupt he is the cancer and metastasize that has eaten away the unity of all tribes and its now each must look out for his own . NDC must not campaign for this idiot of a criminal president but rather sit in opposition for at least one term to cleanse themselves of this wickedness

The Bank of Ghana (BOG) has no Eastern Regional headoffice. The BOG must ask for land from the King of Akyem (Okyehene) to construct this building. I don´t believe that the BOG has accurate data on the economic activity in the at least 12 Akyem districts which make up more than half the population on the region. The GDP and GNI of these Akyem districts are very high. They stem from:

Gold mining
Diamond mining
Cocoa
Oil Palm (the largest in West Africa)
Timber
Software development
etc

The money supply and capital in the at least 12 Akyem districts are wholly inadequate. BOG must remove impediments to the setting up of rural banks in these districts and encourage ADB and GCB to open branches in these districts.

The government must further ensure that wholly owned Ghanaian banks, including rural banks, get at least 80% of the banking revenue.

These types of socialist arguments could deceive Ghanaians in the 50s and 60s but, they cannot do so now. Nkrumah was the first leader to introduce unsustainable debt into this country by borrowing massively and unnecessarily to finance his whims and caprices. It was a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence. He didn't lay a realistic economic foundation for sustainable development of the young nation at all, considering the amount of money that was at his disposal in those days.

Ghana had about one billion dollars in reserve when Nkrumah took over the reins of government from the colonial master. Could you imagine what the value of 1bn dollars was in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of his rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased four-fold. But contrary to any sound economic planning, he did not reserve any fraction of the windfall for a rainy day as the Whiteman had done with only one fourth of the revenues he got from cocoa. So, what did Nkrumah do with all the revenue he got from the astronomical cocoa prices, and the big reserve he inherited that took many years to build for our financial stability and sustainable development?

The man just went on a spending spree both in Ghana and around the world, throwing his weight about and talking big. So when the cocoa prices fell close to the end of his rule, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West, blaming them for manipulating cocoa prices to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, after misusing all the money mainly on useless prestigious projects, failed communist agricultural projects and whimsical mad rush industrialization projects that did not withstand the test of time, he also burdened the young nation with another billion dollars' debt before he was forced out of the country.

The truth is that, the economy could not grow and achieve its potentials under communists since the system lucks mechanisms and incentives that would release energies of the people to create wealth. Nkrumah, therefore, met a rich and confident country with stable economy, and left it bankrupt in some few years as a result of gross communist mismanagement.

The 9 Supreme Court judges agreed that the operations of our electoral commission needs improving. For well over 16 months, the electoral commission seem to be oblivious to what is wrong within, but because the government and the commission are in bed together, nobody is raising a finger! It is the utmost duty of the president to see that such directive is effected, since it bothers on the security of the nation. Anybody seen not to be doing his duty to accomplish such high profile directive must be shown the exit door, and the president is the final duty to see to that!
The final has the final say to ensure that Wayome refunds the GHC51 million as demanded by the Supreme Court. The person who is not seeing to it that the money is refunded should be shown the door! And that is the duty of the president!
The Kumasi-Accra Highway was started nearly a decade ago; until the government completes that project, it is nonsensical to start the Kasoa interchange or even the Circle project!
We have enough resources to go round everybody in the country if only the president can see to it that the resources are administered prudently for the benefit of everybody. The president can go to the ends of the world for any loans, but if we are not able to manage wgat arrives in the country prudently, we will be where we are now until the Lord's second coming!
If our president meant what he was staying, none of these issues would have remained where they are all these years. There are enough suggestions in people's criticisms, but Mahama's is a government that does not listen or care! The president himself is all talk with action! So he must examine himself before he comes out to demand anything, good or bad, from the citizenry!
