When the VIP lounge was used as a cover to export drugs, the government should have been decent enough to accept responsibility, begin arresting the culprits and be seen to be putting the right rules in place to prevent that from happening again without being told. Logically, there is no fire without smoke and one plus one is two. Definitely, that Alhaji must have some links with some people in authority, and the onus lies with the government to prove beyond reasonable doubt that it has nothing to do with the illicit drug business. Moreover, the ex-NACOB Board Chairman said that the VIP Lounge was a market place. What a shame!

Without mentioning names Ruby's lawyer made an explicit statement of complicity by some faceless individuals described simply as "powerful people". While no one is indicted yet any responsible government will take the lead and task the security agencies to initiate an extensive investigation to unravel the mystery of the faceless powerful men, a narcotics mob of men in suits wielding power and influence. There are no indictments yet but the investigation will produce some indictments. This is all Dr Kwesi Aning is saying.
Corney, is there any reason why we should not get to the bottom of this and let the chips fall where they may? Do you care whose ox is gored more than resolving a national security concern? I hope not. The NDC administration should have nothing to fear if they have nothing to hide.

The lady in question did not mention any name to the British authorities and she is now in jail then some idiots are saying government should find out who were the people behind her drug trade,how are we going to find them.

Some are saying people are being partisan forgeting that she said she got the help from the top people in 2004 to start the business when NPP was in power.

Just few days ago people have started paying 17.5% VAT on almost every service at the banks imposed by government including even online banking,telephone banking,even closing your account,balance enquiry among others but these people don't talk about these issues but stupid things like this.

Why this people don't lead the crusade against the drug trade by first helping government to block the source of these drugs,are we only interested in the drugs going out of the country only without finding how a country that does not produce these drugs could be exporting them,why they don't talk about that?

Her defense attorney stated in court that she was merely an escort to those men travelling with them all over the world. Nowhere was it mentioned that those men aided her illegal activities. I don't see how Kwesi Aning failed to see that. It is up to the Ghanaian authorities to investigate how the lady was able to carry that amount of cocaine through the VVIP lounge and onto the aircraft. Who were her accomplices on the ground in Ghana? Ghana shouldn't expect UK to do their job for them. UK has done its part in sentencing Nayele.

The attorneys of Natale mentioning in court that powerful men in Ghana have been working with her implies the British police and FBI have all the names. Ghana through Mahama if he is not part of the problem should get the list and prosecute all involved. All of innocent Ghanaians are suffering due to the greed of a few in society. It would be recalled that, when the story broke, it was said that, the drug trafficking operational reach of Nayele Ametefeh aka Ruby Mahama aka Ruby Appiah aka Angel aka Ruby Adu-Gyamfi spanned over 5 continents; ie the Asia's, the America's, Europe, Africa etc, etc and her trade in hard drugs gained momentum, indeed, it gained ascendancy and much greater fervor and steam, beginning 2009 when the Mahama NDC gov't was sworn into office. It seems the change in gov't served as a harbinger of good fortune for Nayele Ametefeh and she became an "Untouchable" in the dark world of drug trafficking totally unprecedented, this side of the Sahara.
Indeed, it is said that, when she was nabbed at Heathrow Airport whilst confidently and brazenly trying to bulldoze her way through customs of Her Majesty The Queen's borders with the purest form of cocaine ever to seek to enter the UK, the Drug Enforcement agency of the US, had to fly into UK on the spur of the moment, to glean information about her operations, and how she had managed to elude capture under the eagle eyes of customs agents for so long.
Such was the scope, dexterity and capability of Nayele Ametefeh.
It has now come to light, and confirmed suspicions of well meaning and right thinking Ghanaians that, such breadth of operational capability could not have been pulled off or made possible, without the proverbial strings being pulled behind the scenes by the high and mighty and powerful in the country.
It was the hope of many a Ghanaian that with the capture of this prolific and versatile drug operative, the movers and shakers, the mighty and powerful would at least be exposed so Ghana could deal with this menace of reckless drug trafficking that had plagued the country and was exerting a corrupting influence across the length and breadth of the country a severe blow. But alas, that was not to be, when Nayele Ametefeh aka Ruby Mahama aka Ruby Appiah aka Ruby Adu-Gyamfi aka Angel activated the principle of "omerta" effectively, cutting off any and all association with the powerful and the mighty and going it alone in the cooler for a mind-boggling time span of 8years, 8months for a woman with three kids all in their teens. It defied logic.
However, the sentencing of the notorious drug Lord has opened another window of opportunity to completely annihilate the links that have served to project Ghana as the El Dorado of drug barons hobnobbing and smooching with the high and mighty and the powerful, whilst the end users of these toxic substances and the image of the country suffers.
The hint as released by the Counsel of Nayele Ametefeh was that, a 50 or about a 50 year old woman who is a lawyer, gave her or introduced her to the trade. Another disclosure was that, two very, very high profile personalities in the country, were involved with this drug baroness. As to whether the two high profile personalities includes the 50 or about 50 year old woman who is a lawyer or it's the 50 or about 50 year old woman who is a lawyer together with these two other high profile personalities, the clue has been given, the hounds have picked up the scent, and it remains to be seen, where it would lead and who is tethered at the end of the rope to the tree.
Her Austrian passport which the NDC gov't wanted Ghanaians to know was her other passport she carried has not been confirmed and the NDC gov't in refuting the allegation that she did not have a diplomatic passport, never made the Austrian passport public, when the NDC gov't said that was the passport she was travelling on, bringing to the fore, why an Austrian who had been nabbed at Heathrow airport should have the President's Representative in the UK, in the person of Ambassador Smith go and visit her in jail, a very interesting phenomenon.
Two names have allegedly come up concerning the two high profile personalities and they are Ibrahim Mahama and Dr. Opuni and as to whether these are confirmed, Ghanaians are still waiting, and most significantly the identity of who the 50 or about 50 year old woman who is a lawyer is.
Clearly, Ghana needs to smoke them out for the image and respect of the country amongst the comity of nations to be restored, and to remove the tag of Ghana being the cradle of drug barons and drug baronesses oasis of impunity, recklessness and lawlessness and showing compulsively that, the political will which has been lacking since 2009 in the Mahama NDC gov't is restored to protect the borders of our dear country from the debilitating effects of drugs and drug trafficking and the categorization of Ghana as a NARCO-STATE.

This man has no conscience or integrity he only fakes his way into everything but least knows what entails to be called a head of state. In broad day light in his party office; officials who were conducting democratic exercise were butchered in his name.

Just as has been his demeanour of keeping silent on all crimes levelled against him from being certificate less, Drug baron, Drug user, and womaniser, son of a traitor, drill ship thievery and his involvement in the release of drug baron from jail only Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo can tell; till now he has made no comment about this heinous act.

His public speeches are out of date and have no connection with current trends social developments. He is more manual than mechanical. I wonder if he knows how to use computers or modern applications soft wares. Ghana needs to move forward we don’t need a retarded man who has no achievement in life than living on ill gotten booty bequeathed to him by his father. He thinks democracy means insulting and using foul language against your opponent and cause disaffection in society forgetting that there is something called conscience. It is God who makes people to discern and cause changes for the good of mankind. If Nana Addo has a clear conscience God will make his wish come through but Alas!!! It will be well for Sodom and Gomorrah than for him to force his will on the people. Unless the later generation sincerely shows repentance and move away from the odious deeds of their fathers; the wrath of God shall be visited upon them.

You guys were not concerned about the name game when NPP Member of Parliament Eric Amoateng was convicted for trafficking drugs and spent ten years in prison in the USA. Why were all of you silent on the Eric Amoateng drug case, a drug case that was far bigger than Ruby's? How do you expect the government to klook for 'powerful people in society' merely because drug queen Ruby Adu-Gyamfi made that claim in her submission to the court? Ruby, in her quest for leniency, pleaded guilty quickly. Once her plea deal was accepted by the court, Ruby was no bound in any way to disclose names. Even if Ruby disclosed names to the prosecutor, that certainly will not be shared with the public. Ruby is a drug trafficker, and will tell any lie she can to get her way in court. Why would anyone waste time relying upon her pronouncement that she was wined and dined by powerful people in society to mean that those people might have aided her? Ruby was not just trafficking drugs, she very likely was trafficking her body too. The people who were involved with hwer have been round up and and charged in courts in Ghana. What more to you want?
