They are the ones who should have fix these fares. I do not understand why this corrupt GPRTU has been given so much powers. Ghana is in fact a joke.

This is a positive move and I hope to hear positive and applaudable contributions. We have other projects to develop so if there is surplus money at fuel price the extra money can be channeld into.

So GPRTU has a mandate to stipulate transport fares in the country,; what is the function of the transport ministry?
People have still not seen that GPRTU is a group formed by thieves and has been harassing the traveling community for far too long. It was formed by drivers who had no job to have a day's meal by helping those in business. The union has been operating as a private group that should pay special fees to the councils in whose stations they operate but NO! they virtually pay nothing. Because it is full of block headed people, they act forcefully with impunity. Go to the lorry stations for fact finding on how they treat the travelers and how they make so cumbersome the conditions for traveling. The GPRTU has taken the lorry parks to be their property but it belongs to the city / municipal councils. Try only once at a station to ask of their behavior and the first word from you will cause a slap from one of them. That group is given too much undue chance to cheat the community and this must be checked.

If care is not take what happened in Tunisia will happen here. Why drivers are suffering too much in this country Ghana why.
