  What is unauthorised parking? Fellow Ghanaians, please someone should help. A taxi with occupants or passengers stopping and being arrested for unauthorised parking? The following are the signs controlling parking or stopping whilst driving. (a) No Waiting (b) No Stopping (c) No Parking. Each of the category stated has its signage. One can stop at a place where there is a "no parking" signage for passengers to alight, but cannot switch the engine off and leave the vehicle there. In most cases the those engaged to administer complinace, including some MTTU Officers arrest vehicle users for stopping at a place where "no parking" signage is, when their intent is to drop off passengers. Stopping does not mean parking. Please help.

THE DRIVER MIGHT HAVE STOPPED FOR PASSENGERS TO GET DOWN OR JUST TO PICK THE PASSENGER AND DRIVE ON. AT MOST, THE OFFICER SHOULD TELL THE DRIVER TO MOVE ON. I AM SURE, THE TIME WAISTED FOR COLLECTING THE GC 40,00 WAS LONGER THAN THE TIME THE TAXI STOPPED. EVEN TAXIS, POLICE, RED-CROSS VEHICLES HAVE THE RIGHT TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO SAVE, RESCUE OR HELP DISABLED CITIZENS. A TAXI IS THE ONLY MEANS IN GHANA TO RESCUE DISABLED OR ACCIDENT VICTIMS TO THE HOSPITALS.
