  The economy is hitting many families hard and many have run out of ideas.

  This is nothing to be happy about if we you consider this in real terms. If inflation is rising, which is normally the case in most developing countries, it is expected not to rise that fast. When road tolls were increased from 5p to 50p for private cars, the percentage increase was 1,000%. If it is increased currently to GHC 1.00, the percentage increase would drop drastically down to 100% but the real quantum jump would be more than the first increment. The first was by 45p but the second was 50p. See the result. That's why the politicians and the Economists keep using the percentages than the real values to hide these dangerous facts. At our current price levels, inflation should be in the single digits to cushion the ordinary folks like us. Spare us the gimmicks, please.
