I seem to recall JJ Rawelings addressing the issue of democracy in Africa about 7 years ago now in Oxford, then a whole interview with Zeinab Badawi on Focus on Africa. It is good to hear the opinions and perspectives of our political leaders on matters of national, regional, continental and global affairs and it would be interesting to get Nana Akuffo Addo's perspectives on the subject of democracy in Africa.

I hasten to add that Rawlings made a complete mess of his opportunity and spent 75% of the time comparing himself to Kuffour's government and their performance. Completely off topic and terribly embarrassing for some of us. I hope Nana Addo will not be tempted to go down that route, but rather present himself like the Statesman that I believe he is.

I really don't see why people should get so carried away by this invitation and some politicising it.

BBC can see and forcast Akufo Addo can be a possible dangerous man to the democracy we not only as Ghanaians but all Africans are enJoying here in GHana. Most africans especially Burkinabese, nigerians are coming to Ghana for refuge. This is a man who rejected the 2012 election result cleanly won by NDC and wasted everybody's times by going to court which he is not ready to go to court again in 2016 should he lose. He keeps on saying "according to the EC elections are won on polls" and he will use every bad means to win on the poll. BBc can also recall his "all die be die" mantra in 2012 election campaign. He was the same man who wanted the late president mills to send Ghanaian soldiers to go and fight in I vory Coast to overthrow then president instead of on talking and peace process as president opted. Don't think BBC is stupid to ignore well meaning leaders who know democracy better like Kofi Annan, Rawlings, Thebo Mbeki and invite Akufo Addo to give such a speech and by so doing he himself can learn something better from it in 2016 to retire from Africa/Ghana politics.

How many political leaders in UK that have come to Africa just to be interviewed while a press statement released and their country were praising them or rejoicing and feeling proud for them. Why do we still see white folks as our lords. I'm not hating on Nana leaving for UK to be interviewed but come on, the statement released by his office that he has been invited to go BBC to be interviewed and how some people are singing praises is even laughable. I personally, need to see our leaders being on program in Ghana discussion our way forward and that will bring applaud from me to them because I feel that's the one which will benefit us but not going abroad just to be interviewed. Ghanaians leaders need to abstain from self recognition and help Ghana to improve. I will not praise any leader who is going abroad just to be interviewed but will praise any leader who will go to any discussion panel in Ghana to discuss Ghana.

African democracy? Akufo-Addo would be better off talking about what he knows best, serial losing in Ghana politics. Anything else from Akufo-addo's mouth is nothing but hot air.
