We have been in this country when the uncompleted extension of the runway of Kumasi Regional Airport has been described by the Mahama NDC gov't as an ultra modern international airport comparable to any international airport in the US, Germany, France, UK, Holland, China, Hong Kong, etc, etc. So what does the Mahama NDC gov't means by an ultra modern Kumasi central market because Ghanaians have had it with mediocre leadership and propaganda.

Restructure, reshuffle, re-deploy and investigate and put right what is wrong with the original debt collectors. Else the nation end up paying for two departments to do the same job, money the energy sector doesn't have. Without looking into the problems, the new debt collectors would perform even worst to the old one. I am not even the minister and I know this. What kind of ministers does the nation have? Did they really qualified for the jobs they are doing or Mahama's cronies, friends and families.

What are the "original debt collectors" doing? If people are failing to do their duties, heads must roll (apology to Koku Anyidoho). Ruling by committees is not the best. If the system is not working, find out why and correct it. What happens after the committee finishes collecting the debt? Do they stay on or assimilate them into the system or let them go and come back after the debts accumulate again? The creation of the power ministry in itself is wrong and not the solution to the power problem, and for the minister to start with the creation of a committee for debt collection is the wrong step. I believe the minister of energy has been underperforming and should be changed instead of creating another ministry for power. Is it "job for the boys"?

These pronouncements from ACEP is a continuation of the ignorance Ghanaians bring to bear when foreign ideas and ideals are repackaged and sold in Ghana by Ghana's educated class with lack of historical perspective or understanding of fundamental principles. There are no striking differences between government business operations and private business operations but driving motivations. So while private entities are driven by profit margins government entities turn out to be mostly nonprofit but both need operating funding sources. Is ACEP advocating a position that government must continue to provide utility services without revenue sources? There is no government worth is weight in gold that would provide utility services for free and expect to sustain viability. Government needs it's money to provide services and it's about time ACEP and others who want everything for free come to understand there is nothing free in this world.

The Energy Minister SHOULD not foolishly think he is throwing dust into our eyes. Does the Minister think that these committee members are going to spend time for free?

The future peoples revolution that will take place in this country will aim at the shake up of what is now irresponsibly called THINK TANKS in Ghana.
I wonder where the minister went we wrong especially when it is said that millions of cedis are owed the ECG which falls under Power/Energy. Secondly, some unscrupulous Ghanaians including government officials, the elite, some politicians have illegally wired homes and businesses connecting to the national grid.
Also even petty business persons have done the same with unqualified electricians and these have also been the major causes of recent spate of electrical fires in most markets in Ghana.
Now coming to the point if any person dealing with power inaugurates be it ACEP, a school or any establishment interested in POWER matters and invites a minister of Power it is his right to honour or dishonour the invitation. What is wrong with that.
What is wrong with the Power or Energy minister trying sometime new within a country that almost every one wants freebies from government without working hard for it.
The duty of a viable think tank if ACEP were was not to mount a POLITICAL platform to seem to insinuate vulgarly against respected Minister of State.
But to allow time again as a viable think tank to evaluate the new committee, say in 3, 6 months and 1 year. And then rather ANALYTICALLY and CRITICALLY establish through evidence how such committee was irresponsible and had failed.
For so long as Ghanaians refuse to ne responsibly pay a fair share of the power bills even if all energy is brought into Ghana be it nuclear, solar, thermal, geothermal, wind, wave, etc., it is biund to fail.
Dr Wereku Brobbey returned from studies from overseas as a SOLAR expert in the early either wrote an article in the Daily Graphic a national Daily.
With connections got the best job in GHANA as a vibrant young man heading the VRA. He could have solved the energy problem if GHANAIANS paid the fair share for the electricity they used.
In short a power minister alone cannot solve energy problem because it costs money folks.
Labelling all these nonesense of DUMSOR, DUMSOR, echoing by parliament and made into songs is a mockery of the seriousness of our people. Of course dumsor, on a lighter note as humour is fine but has became a religion by some politicians believing the more the hammer the noise into the ears of Ghanaians loud enough the more the will remember and abhor one government instead of finding a national solution to a national problem ANALYTICALLY.
JFK said, "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
Fellow Ghanaians lets all stop gaming the system and think everything will be OK.
When presidential candidates say we will build Ghana on models like Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, India, and recently South Korea rather than an original country model then we are going nowhere.
Because these countries had the perculiar problems but co-operation of all citizen the analysed and found practical and lasting solutions to their problems.
