  Sometimes I really wonder where some of our lack-luster African journalists get their information from. The truth of the matter is that Kenya, like Ghana, has a thin superficial veneer of development which is often mistaken as a success story. This illusion fits in very well with the western exploitation schemes of Africa and their local errand boys - the African elite such as Kufuor and co, so the truth is often subdued and buried alive.
  
  Under that thin layer of apparent development in Kenya is one of the most miserable stories of under-development in the world.
  
  Kenya is the proud landlord of one of the biggest slum sprawls in the whole universe. It is like a kind of Sodom and Gomorrah that extends all the way to Teshie, Tema, Dodowa and back to Accra. The misery that exists in the sub-economic conditions of Kenya makes it eligible to be described as a virtual department of hell ankasa.
