Reverend Adu Simon, Founder and General Overseer of Almighty Redemption Chapel International, has called on Ghanaians to desist from corrupt practices that tend to retard the progress of the nation.
He bemoaned the upsurge of corruption in every facet of the Ghanaian society.
Rev Adu Simon who made the call in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Sunyani said irresponsible parenting, recalcitrant children, lazy teachers, bribe giving and taking by civil and public servants as well as power struggle and gossip in our churches, is fuelling corruption.
He said people suffer curses and hardships when they do evil against the State.
Rev Adu Simon, therefore, urged Ghanaians to shun all forms of evil and do good, in order to receive abundant blessings.
What is more ironic, according to the man of God, is the fact that the Ghanaian society is made up of about 60-70 per cent Christians and “if this large army of citizenry could demonstrate true Christian principles and values they could make greater positive impact of righteousness on the nation and make right all the wrongs in the country.
“These same Christians are found at homes, schools, communities, churches, workplaces and the larger Ghanaian society, so if there is high rate corruption in the country, what difference do we make to kill this canker? ” he queried.
Rev. Adu advised the citizenry to respect the elderly and people in authority, and urged Christians to lead righteous lives in order to change society for the better.
