This has nothing to do with caution but instead protecting the citizens of Ghana from too many Nigerians wanting to come Ghana without proper documentation.Deport them.....

It has been reported that a reptile was pushed into the stomach of an Akyem in the Ashanti Region.

If you look at the back of the cedi note you would see the picture of the Big six; so called because they were prepared to die for Ghana to achieve independence for which they were imprisoned. Of the six 3 were Akyems and a fourth was married to an Akyem who became the first lady.

Why then do you hate Akyems?

J. B. Danquah stood for president and was not successful. William Ofori-Attah stood for president and was not successful. Akufo Addo who is half Akyem has his story unfinished.

Akyems make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region. Today because of negative government developmental practices from independence some have become so proud that they can look at Akyems condescendingly.

Over the last 100 years revenue from the Akyem-Akwatia Diamond mine, alluvial gold, cocoa and palm oil from Akyem have been used to develop the whole of Ghana including providing scholarships for some Ghanaians.

It is simply false that cocoa production in the Gold Cast started with Tetteh Quarshie. Missionaries started introducing it long before Tetteh Quarshie smuggled some seeds from Fernando Po to the Gold Coast. Besides, he wasn't the only Gold Coaster who went there to hustle. When he returned with the experience he had garnered and took up the production of cacao seriously and the other native saw that he was thriving, they also accepted to grow cacao and they got seedlings from the missionaries at Aburi; not necessarily from Tetteh Quarshie. Some others returned with seeds from Fernando Po. T. Quarshie was simply the pioneer grower.

Anyway, these poor herders should be left alone to ply the trade they have been plying for decades. Fulanis have been tending our cattle for many generations now and we need them, instead of all the angst and attacks on them. Problems of grazing on farm lands can be resolved.

Let's not forget the back and forth deportations between Ghana and Nigeria in 1968 and 1980 that brought a lot of misery and hardship to the affected nationals of the two countries. Ghanaian authorities must proceed with great caution in this regard. Let history be our guide.

How come that these people got to the hinterland of Ghana, Chinderi in the Krachi-Nchumuru area before protestations from the youngsters then awoke the security agencies from their slumber leading to the Regional Minister calling for their transportation back to Ho?
