  Accra is the national capital. Workers at the various ministries live in Accra with their families. The government of Ghana in order to achieve its objectives has been holding a series of workshops in batches, sometimes lasting for more than a month, for officials from all districts of Ghana. A disturbing trend has been noticed. All these workshops are being held in the Ashanti Regional capital.
  
  This is disturbing for 2 reasons. Firstly because the capital is Accra the government officials have their homes in Accra and not the Ashanti Regional capital. The government therefore has been paying hotel bills for these government officials to stay in the Ashanti Regional capital throughout the duration of the workshops. If the workshops were held in Accra there would be no need for money for their accommodation. The additional expense is so enormous that it could have been used to contruct schools and clinics in many needy communities across the country.
  
  Secondly this is leading to strained family relations as government officials are spending more and more months in a year away from their families who live in Accra.
  
  The President, Parliament, Journalists and the political parties must ensure that all such workshops are held in Accra.

  The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.
  
  This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
  Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

  We all know promotions go with financial rewards as well as authority. No one should there think eligible persons would let go easily. In a country where party affiliation and tribal connections play a pivotal role in decisions such as this, the best option is to standardize and let all terminate at the same point.
  
  No one should ask me about productivity and the likes. They are all gimmicks.

  Please be objective with your findings and conclusions on the subject. If the officers are indeed due for promotion,is it your case that they should be promoted because the administration falsely gives the impression that there are no vacancies?Have you bothered to investigate and ascertained the number of officers who have passed the retirement age and yet continue to stay in office?.do you know that some of the officers were recruited by their false ages?Please be fair to the aggrieved officers and stop this pro propaganda for the filthy administration we have now. Most serving officers don't deserve to be occupying their positions because some are either over aged or sir incompetent that they cannot be reasonably entrusted with any command positions.The case of Commssionser Hamidu and Prosper Agblor are two cases in point. Do you know that Commissioner Prosper Agblor has set in motion a process of ewenization of the CID? Are you aware that he has for instance kept a known corrupt and criminal by name Seth as the commander of the visa fraud unit ,simply to share whatever bribe Seth will collect in the handling of cases?do your investigations well and stop childing

  What a stupid publication. The reporter as well as the one who gave him the story are idiots to the none sense degree. Look at the pot calling the cattle to be black. Who are the said officers complaining about so called undermining of the so called police admin. Who if not Alhassan and Atinga Bio. Why cant they be bold to say that they are those behind this story. When they are due for retirement but becos of tribalism they are given contracts to stay on, how on earth will the said vacancy they are complaining about be created.They created the impression that the vacancies available were few only to hand pick their cronnies and promoted them. I can only pray for Prez Mahama becs the disaffection Alhassan and Atinga have created for him(Prez) in the police service to the extent that even junior ranks who have gone to school at their own expense have all been denied promotions. Instead the two capos wolud cook something like special recomendations and promote their cronies with it. Mr Prez, pls wise up becos these greedy bastards are pouring sand into your gari. The last institution you will want to toy with is the police. Pls wise up, wise up. So many police personel (seniors and juniors) are really tensed up. Wise up. you need the police.....
