Obviously there is a major rift between the President and his Vice. Everything described in the article is wholly plausible, I would not discount its contents so quickly.

This story has been simmering all through the weekend, how is it that the Vice-President has not come out to deny it? Or is it the case that due he's also plagued by dumsor-dumsor and hasn't heard the story yet?

It is obvious Al Hajj has leaked info within its purview and conveniently provided itself with an alibi to protect itself from backlash from the paymasters. Anybody sophisticated enough to frame Al Hajj this way also knows that the paper only comes out on Tuesdays and thursdays and that the story would be easily discredited if it could not be verified from paper published on those days.
