When a state official embezzles fund under his/her care, the official's worse punishment is to get FIRED, and so goes to politicians and on and on. This response to the activities is a JOKE, a slap on a wrist to a serious crime.
Here's a situation to strengthened the authorities hand; no more cutting of slack in the fast developing culture! Send Emma to jail.

More of these orphanages practice the same evil vices and must also to closed down. Children's ill fate must not be taken advantage of and never should they be used as tools for anything or anyone's evil satisfaction. The Osu children's home as we all know from the past is another place where orphans are mistreated. Is anyone doing proper supervision?

I offer this prayer for all orphans in our dear country, especially those in orphanages in the care of unscrupulous and wicked caretakers.

The key to preventing these abuses is proper monitoring of children's homes and that is the duty of govt's. Let's hope there will be more such exposure and prosecutions by govt

SOLUTION TO THE ORPHAN CHALLENGE IN GHANA:
Good Orphanages or Families?
The Government or the Church' Responsibility?
Family is not an important thing , it is EVERYTHING. ~ Michael J. Fox.
Orphans and vulnerable children need families not even good furnished orphanages. The reason for the Care Reform Initiative is to give all children everything.
This is what Ghana Without Orphans for that matter World Without Orphans is all about. The church, NGO's, Government agencies etc. must give every orphan the passport from the Orphan Nation to the joy of a better family life.
Orphans need families not orphanages. The orphanages and Foster homes are only a means not an end. They should be viewed as stepping stones leading to the ultimate goal of returning a child to his/her biological family, or relatives if at all possible, or permanent placement in a family via adoption.
The very best environment for all children is a loving and caring family- father, mother, siblings, and extended family members for life... a family to call their own and to come home for ever. Can you imagine Ghana Without Orphans?
The church in Ghana MUST rise to its rightful place to support its members to empty the orphanages in Ghana. If there are 4,432 Orphans in 133 Orphanages in Ghana and there are over 56,000 local churches in Ghana, then 10 local churches can jointly support a family that is willing to adopt an orphan. By this analysis, Ghana will be the first country in the world to experience a Country Without Orphans.
May I also plead with the Government to make adoption a little easier.
I can envision a waiting list of Ghanaian families and new couples in churches wanting to adopt children. Ghana Without Orphans is saying let us get to ZERO ORPHANS IN GHANA. ghanawithoutorphans@gmail.com

Now everybody seems to be pointing fingers to social welfare department. The pertinent questions are: Does the district office have a vehicle to do constant monitoring? When was the last visit to this home by social welfare officers? Logistics are essential and after investigations, the district should be given a vehicle to able to go round these bogus orphanages that killing children.
