“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.

“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”

“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.

This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

On the other hand, if they want to blame Mahama for dumsor, then they have to accept that mahama brought massive developemnts o Ghana to a point that the current power cannot sustain them! NPP has to pick one. The NPP cannot eat its cake and still have it. NPP also hassome a responsibility for Dumsor. Adding 80mw when you claim you are expanding the economy is dumb.

Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

The real reason why we are short of power is, first npp procured a white elephant that wereko brobbey procured that never worked. The plany is sitting pretty any use because the diesel used in that plant is too expensive to sell its power. Also Bui uses same water source as akosombo so there was no need to waste monies on that project. Today its not producing any energy because of lack of vision from NPP.

The NPP legacy o power is a total of 80Mw they added. Kuffuor brokerage of crude from angola is all he added to energy but never built us any plants. Infact six years of building no plants whilst demand increased worsened a problem that began long ago when the Busia and co killed Nkrumahs atomic energy power plant.

Its sad that the Ghanaian people are being played in a chess board of politics by these same people.

However, as a result of the wanton and unbridled thievery and looting by the Mahama NDC gov't, Ghanaians collectively, within all spheres of economic and social activity are suffering from the crass plunder and pillage of the national purse, bringing the development and growth of the country to a screeching halt.

Rawlings and his NDC could not ensure the production and distribution of uninterrupted electricity during his years at the helm and if for 8-years Kufour and the NPP could not do likewise even as hundreds of millions of dollars were stolen and mismanaged then it is shamefull for either party to parade in front of media to give partisan spews even as Ghanaians suffer.

Kufuor left uncompleted power project in his 8 year rule. None, I mean none was completed. It took the NDC to complete them.If they had completed them then they can talk. NDC has been in govt for almost 6 years. Dont the NPP credit the NDc for Atuabo which is completed ready to supply gas for power generation. All the expansion works dont they see it? Energy is not like tomatoes. If Kufuor could not complete one power project to add 1 megawatt in 8 years why do you complain about a party in govt for 6 years. Wait and if in 8 years they do not add a megawatt you can open that gutter you call a mouth to complain

Instead of maintaining what's already been established or constructed, the NDC can't even handle or manage things; there's no money to fuel those thermal plants that Kuffour's gov't built for Ghana's electric power generation.
