Readers would recall that Betty Mounds was the one who awarded SCHOOL building contracts at a triple price of the existing contract sum of some GH 80,000.00. And this happened at a time when they claim inflation was in the single digits. Could you imargin how foolish these criminal liars were. Kuffour built similar structures with 80,000 at a time when inflation was around 14.8% and under Mills it was 240,000 at a rate of 8.8%. And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. I don't blame those African countries that have been ripped apart by civil unrest because if you have such buffoons in power who always turn our local elections into a West Africa one
by contracting Togolese Trokosis, Burkinabe and Wangaras from La Cote D'ivoire to vote for them, the " Road To Kigare", is sometimes, a likely option to kick their ass from power.

If Dr Bawumia says the current government has received Gh Cedis 62 billion (in six years) of tax revenue compared to only Gh Cedi 15 billion by the previous government of which he was a part (over 8 years), then it begs the question, which government is more efficient in retrieving monies owed it to run the economy?

Isn't it rather funny and confusing at the same time for those of us who cannot even do our sums?

I have always found Dr Bawumia's selective use of figures for his own political arguments most disingenious and quite frankly dangerous for our democracy. I would rather that politicians laid the sums bare, made objective comparisons, then advanced their arguments.

How I wish the NPP would win the next elections so that we can also follow their economic track record and see how they are able to manage the very economy they currently cannot see anything good about. It is ridiculous to try to create the impression to Ghanaians that somehow nothing is working in the country, the people (who hitherto were enjoying a good life under Bawumia, Kufour et. al) have suddenly become so poor and suffering so much that it is ONLY a return of Bawumia et. al., that would 'save the day'!!!

Our politicians have every right to campaign for office but what Ghanaians want to hear is how they can build on what others have started or are doing rather than this nonsense only fit for kindergarten kids, that somehow everything is so bad and if they are voted in, then they will supply them with their 'toffees at every meal'.

Bawumia and other politicians like him simply do not impress with this rather terrible approach which to me is an insult to the electorate. I hope the youth who thronged to his speech are not taken in by this rather cheap politicking on his part.

If Taxes are coerced from the people, like the refusal to reduce fuel prices even when world market prices have dropped from $120 a barrel to about $40 a barrel, and you have barely nothing to show for those taxes, in addition to the unprecedented loans this government is committing this country to, plus all the extra revenue we are making from Oil etc etc, Then what is the use of the efficiency?

Is it not only to line their own pockets as evidenced by the unprecedented levels of corruption we are witnessing in this country. So far despite the numerous corruption cases that have been exposed, not a single individual has been convicted nor a single penny retrieved. Does this not amount to blatant corruption? And is this not what Bawumia is graciously pointing out? Which part of what he said did you not understand? Why attack the person rather than address the issues he raised. I presume you are an intellectual and I expect you to reason like one? Good Day.

Ghana's true development is inextricably linked with the complete firing of the Mahama-led NDC govt at the ballot box in life 2016.
The quantum of resources that have accrued to this NDC govt within this 6 years if it had been any other country with true, honest, dedicated, committed and effective leaders would have seen a huge turnaround for the best in the lives of its citizenry. However in the case of Ghana and the Mahama-led NDC govt, it is an inverse relationship. With increasing resources trickling into the country, the masses continue to be plunged into the doldrums on the back of thievery, incompetence and mismanagement.
