What the minister did was irresponsible and possibly the woman might have complained to other people or others saw his infidelity and could have leaked it to the media who shall not hesitate to publish it. Even if the woman leaked the information, it shows how embittered she was. Is it not irreprehensible for a married man who is also a minister not to be sleeping at home but with a mistress? Consider what the minister would have done if the wife did that. If he was fed up with the marriage, nothing prevented him for calling it quits. Ghanaian men take women for granted and abuse them too much. Was it right for the minister to go to the house, take the TV and other items when the woman was away? Does the man owe the property alone? Can he do that without any court order? And he broke into the house which was the government property. Such a minister is a disgrace to the government and needs to be fired.

If it is true that the man is staying with another woman, then after the divorce, if the children are still in school and staying with the mother, and are underage, them the woman can ask for custody of the kids and ask for child support. The man has admitted that he has a tight schedule and sometimes not at home. So, any reasonable judge will grant the woman custody.
Corney, why don't you also condemn the activities of the minister. I know most men cheat but if one does it stupidly and it becomes very public, then he must be condemned. And as politician, he should know that all eyes are watching him.

That is when you are traded in for a younger model and you and children are left like an old rag. Forget court, the man will get everything. A nation is built on righteousness, and any minister of state with such low moral turpitude must be fired.
And I wonder if president John Mahama will have the moral courage to take such a drastic action, because a president with over 19 children cannot be said to be morally righteous. Indeed, the NDC ministers and their deputies are following the foot steps of their leader, and very soon the divorce rate within their ranks will be very high.
The courts must be ready to adjudicate and share the stolen booty equally among the spouses as per the current law.
