In this case I do not root for any party or person but yes Mahama and his NDC regime are to blame for now for the situation we have on our hands now but I will say past regimes are also culprits because everything fixes by past regimes remained short term fixes and not long term just to make them look good for their their term and forget.Let us start from from JJ coming yes JJ did a great job to try to get electricity even to my village which we all appreciate because that was a good way to open the hinterland because that is where the bulk of our foods are stemming from but the problem he left was just that population will no doubt continue to explode and thinking that government can continue to be the supplier,distributer,regulator etc.of electric and water was and is not feasible.Look at how quick he was to privatize telephony,mobile phones,radio,tv etc.and today it is paying off big time and also bringing good revenue to various regimes.Initially most folks were kicking against privatization which they were right at that moment folks are afraid of change but mustered the courage and did it and now look.Just travel to USA and see if you can even count the number of electric,gas,water,tv,radio etc.companies they are all private bringing about competition so who benefits the consumer.I can not count the number of times I have changed my telephone,tv,water,electric and gas companies because they are all advertising for your business or they run out of business.They are constantly upgrading their technology,beating down their pricing,upgrading their customer care,asking constantly for customer feed back to improve their services etc.all the government does is more of a watchdog and to sit back and regulate.If you break the set rules you are sanctioned.Kuffuor also came tried his best but could also have done better by thinking a bit more out of the box and muster the courage to privatization.Yes sometimes some moves may make you unpopular at that moment but will not last with conviction you know you will arrive there and the same folks will start singing praises.Mills also came and it remained same old same old.JJ in any case will forever be remembered if any kumasi fellow will be real to be the one who mustered the courage to build kumasi city roads.All past regimes had tried but failed because the then past Asantehenes were always interfering they will get the contracts and sublet to some of our local kumasi contractors back then so I remember one afternoon JJ came down to Kajetia fuming angrily and announced that enough of that interferance so he awarded kumasi roads to foreigners Arab Contractors and within a short while kajetia to suame was done,to krofrom done,to amakom done etc.so sometimes our regimes have to muster the courage to do somethings out or the ordinary because leaders do go to make friends but act with coviction with a team that help you perform and accomplish your set goals.Some of those who will come around may have their own agenda to pretend to be helping but just to get rich quick mindset to bring you down.
