“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.

“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”

“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

I wonder how the mostly weak Economies of this West African Nations could have and manage a Single Currency successfully. The idea that wrongful representatives are those in the forefront is the beginning of failure because,what do clueless Mahama and the likes know about Monetary policies or issues.Why was he not reperesented by a team from the Central Bank ? Again,the deadline of 2020 is even funny because, the needed pivotal foudations of solid Economies to propelled the implementation of a Single Currency for the sub-region are missing or not yet in place in majority of these nations and Ghana is not an exception.So,the problem is not how earlier can the sub-region have a single currency,but how soon will majority of these nations be able to balance the Budget without international Donor's assistance especially,Ghana !
Ghana has to learn from their colonial masters (Britain) to abstain for now with a chance to join later,to see how it goes.That is the common sense approach.l suspect that some of these people in the forefront think are making history or want a name,no matter the economic consequences, in the future,if any. By the way,what are the benefits, challenges, opportunities and the weaknesses etc of the Euro ?.This question is supposed to be answered by the ECO.

Anyway does Ghana have to pay his per diem or the ECOWAS secretariat? Pls auditor general, look into all per diem issues with the president. Some of them don't have to be paid by Ghana. A case in point is this current travel, and also the one he travelled to Nigeria to witness the opening of a new stadium.

During the pre independence era and to some extent after post independence especially in our West Africa community, we had only two major currencies ie;British Pound Sterling for the Anglophone and CFA Franc for the Francophone Countries. But,Our own Dr.Kwame Nkrumah introduced our useless and put his head on the currency with 84 pesewas becomimg equivalent to One Cedi.Nigeria then follow suit with Naira,Sierra Leone with Leone and Gambia with Dalasi.I'm therefore happy that,the Ecowas is now working for one common currency for West Africa.

In tha past, tasks and duties were shared between the president and the vice president. In fact, in the recent past, Mr. John Dramani Mahama deputized more for Professor Atta Mills in many aspects. Why can't the current vice president take over such duties as well? Does John Mahama have many things to hide away from Ghana and Ghanaians and fears to entrust any tasks or duties to the vice president?
