While lestening to the commentry during the penalty shootouts , I heard what I had not hope or wanted to hear : " It is A-L-L OVER " .And over it was on sunday February 2nd, 2015.As painful or unbeleivable as it is , the outcome is irréversible. It happened again .same opponent , identical circumstances. The boys played their hearts out. We must apprciate their offort . our plight is attributable to tactical let down.we need to put it behind us .Try not to dwell on the nagative - the disappointment the anger and what do you have ? - and gather our pieces learn what we can from it and move on.Blaming Gyan won't help now.It is tantamont to crying over spilt milk .Gyan has made it clear.Learning from how he was savagely attacked , he has decidef never to take a penalty for Ghana and whom do we blame for this besides the Ghsnian vulgar mouth. This mouth tha respects nobody and knows no boundary .Just look how K P Boateng and his parents were verbally manhandled over the inter net and on the radio .Go on the net and see how Nana Akufo Addo, Président Mahama ,and others are being treated. If you have concience is this not a cryig shame ? Back to the topic.Let us learn our lessons from this shock .The finger pointing and blame game won't help.I think and you may agree with me that even though we lost there was an improvement in the way the boys took the penalties as compared to those ofSouth Africa and Burkina Faso. That is a plus.We need to work on the goalkeepers.someone said our goalkeeper's height was the problem. No .I disagree with that.Stopping a penalty kick is a skill. You either have it or you don't. We have. had so many panalty kick stoppers in the past .Goalkeeper Derchie(B A united ) goalkeeper Ampeh (SS74/kotoko ) goalkeeper Owusu Mensah (Okwahu United) to mention but a few.we can ask them to help. The ma try ma kwe style where a goalkeeper dives the wrong way before the ball is kicked(the European way) as the ball enters the net by the goalkeeper's feet is not goalkeeping .It simply makes me mad. Some may miss that is why a good ball stopper wins games for his team.

U'v got it wrong Rev. Gyan is no mean player in de team. He is de most senior player & more importantly de captain. It is not by merely arm-banding urself dat makes u a skipper; it is all about leadership & Gyan needs to prove it. If he were ordinary player in de team he would be pardoned for his decisions. But in dis instance, he is de captain & he has a lager responsibility than any of his team mates, including sacrificing his personal interest for the success of the team.
Players like Eto'o, Drogba et al were attacked by fans 4 missing spot-kicks, but they never relented in their struggle for the best for their countries.
It it time Gyan realized he is de skipper & ought be up to the task.

Gyan was expected to be amongst the takers in the exercise, but was replaced just before the referee blasted his whistle to end extra time.
The Al Ain ace who had ceded responsibility as the number one penalty taker for the team sat helpless on the bench as he watched his side lose the final.
“I cannot explain that,” Gyan said.
“The coach made a decision and we have to respect that.”

The Black stars lost the final because the team lacks good strikers. If you watch European football, you will find most teams have a couple of guys that will shoot the ball and score. The Black Stars should be able to win the game before spot kicks. Anything can happen during penalty kicks. You may win or lose. If we won, we wont be arguing. I listened to Adom FM and there was this Monday night quarterback in the back groung giving all kinds of advice. The coach should change this or that guy and so forth and so fifth. We lost because someone had to lose, period. WC 2010at the last minute we managed to lose to Uruguay due to penalty kicks. Our boys should be serious and score before full time to ensure victory. A draw at the end of extra time means you may be going home with a silver, so stop the yak yak. It does not matter who took the spot kick. Remember Ivory Coast were also praying to the same God to win.

Let's all take some lessons from here, esp. on what happened to us in AFCO-2015, in the penalty shoot-out and make amends. We'll progress in subsequent tournaments. It's a learning curve, isn't it? Enough of the blame game!

When I hear this statement of "He promised his mother he was not going to kick penalties again...", I get lost and feel dizzy. Can our soldiers who defend our homeland Ghana from foreign invaders, say they promised their parents not to defend Ghana again so they too are going to stay away from defending Mother Ghana until our country is defeated? This is nonsense. Soccer is Gyan's profession, and he has to do it with all his might, will, strength and even to the extend of losing his life as a soldier will do. Soldiers lost their lives for Mother Ghana for the freedom you and I enjoy today. I don't care if Gyan had taken the kick and missed it. I would have loved it that way and I was going to be the first person to praise him for that courage. But running away from it, makes him now a coward warrior. And it is true "Cowards die many times before their real death..." I don't care how you spin it, toss it, or turn it, Asamoah Gyan is a coward warrior who allows the fear of a penalty kick to go under his skin and intimidate him, in spite of all the "Azonto dance"he had graduated in. Keeper Barry of Ivory Coast was scared in taking the penalty but he allowed his tremendous fear to become his only courage. So he played all those tricks by pretending he had a lot of Lactic acid build up in the muscles of his legs. Instead of performing "Azonto dance", he rather went in for the "Bee dance", falling onto the pitch and doing all those funny stuff to drive away his fear, until he gathered himself and kicked and became the unthinkable hero the world has ever had. Unlike a whole captain running away, and could not dance that Azonto dance to shake off his fear. He failed that test that day. I do appreciate all that he has done for the Black Stars (both good and bad) and he is a human just like us all, but the fact is, he could not cut it on that day. Please get over that fear and come out and become a perfect penalty-kicker and stop that fallacy of "I promised my mom ..." We will all be accountable to our Almighty God in the end and not our "Moms". Do your nation a big favor because God has given you that strength and life and not be intimidated by fear of the unknown, Gyan please. Be a man and warrior and stop running away from your ownself.(Bob Marley reiterated).

How could you score 3 first kicks out of 5 penalty shoot out and lose later? It's impossible because any team with 3 goals on the score board carries the day automatically.Otherwise your calculation is false.Thank you.
Africa Sports misses 2 penalty kicks but converts the next 3.
Kotoko converts 3 penalty kicks but misses the next two.
Both teams are now level. Hope you get it now.
Dr Asare you sent me crazy @ my desk
You can never covert the first 3 kicks and loss because we have only 5 shoot out to start so if you score 3,what is left for the opponent?2 goals can't beat 3 except this is not what really happened.Thank you.
Boy Kofi, it is possible.... it all depends on who kicked off first.
