  It is my view that the National Service as we have it has been given a wrong name!!! What the newly qualified graduates are doing under the system is work experience and has nothing to do with national service. My understandi ...

  It is my view that the National Service as we have it has been given a wrong name!!! What the newly qualified graduates are doing under the system is work experience and has nothing to do with national service. My understanding of National Service is their conscription into the Army for a specific period to render service in emergency situations and the like to support in areas where fall short of personnel. After being in the Army for, say, two years then they go back into their various chosen fields. By this system we cut down recruitment into the Army and also in time of need they can be of great asset with their military training. This is my view but, maybe, the authorities may have a better idea and reason for running the National Service as it is now.
