We have been in this country when the uncompleted extension of the runway of Kumasi Regional Airport has been described by the Mahama NDC gov't as an ultra modern international airport comparable to any international airport in the US, Germany, France, UK, Holland, China, Hong Kong, etc, etc. So what does the Mahama NDC gov't means by an ultra modern Kumasi central market because Ghanaians have had it with mediocre leadership and propaganda.

Let`s wait and see how the whole project is going to be. Please, stop these speculations and calling of names to the politicians who planned and are executing the project. Afterall, President Kufour was in power for eight yrs and never thought of such unique project for Kumasi. He only thought of building his house and a hotel.

But you still made a valid comment though I'm not sure those making these decisions ever read our comments. A subway system will certainly have helped with the traffic situation and perhaps more so in Accra. It sure would have been nice to see the two projects takeoff at the same time with some transparency in the numbers. For example, who and how do we repay this loan? Is the repayment from the revenue that will be generated from the stores and how long? We've made economic development more difficult than it ought to be in Ghana. We need to have the mayors in Ghana elected and be held accountable - Accra has too much control!

I hope the NDC government,after the structures have been demolished in the central market, would not turn the exercise into a poverty trap, and impoverish the traders in Kumasi, and turn round to buy their votes during 2016 elections.
If the intention is not to make Kumasi traders poor for supporting the NPP in the run up to the elections, the kudos to the KMA.
