  However, the deficiency syndrome in Ghana is a serious matter. I am shocked as to so many wrong doings in our Road Safety, from the Road Safety Commission through the Police MTTU. When vehicles, especially taxi drivers, Urban bus drivers and many of our tro tro's don't drive with much knowledge on defensive driving, it leaves much to be desired. More than half these vehicles am told belongs to service personnel, they cannot damn well allow their drivers to break the law with impunity. These vehicles drive on road shoulder lanes with impunity, creat four five lanes on 2 lane roads thereby creating a one way situation with impunity, vehicles are parked on paved walk ways permanently with impunity, and many many others. How does National Road Safety Commission sign a contract for vehicle reflective strips that are so useless, non reflective, peels even before applying, my God, this whole country is a total sell out in the name of signing contracts. You cannot push a private sector investment by strangling competition in the private sector.

  If I were JD, I will drive around all the streets in Accra, through the traffic, through every nook and corner of Accr and I bet you, the first person to sack will the the Greater Accra Regional Minister for praising The AMA boss openly on TV and letting us know he drove through the streets of Accra and he was satisfied with what he saw and the fact that Oko is really the man for the city and therefore he has no problem with his appointment. What sham. Sack the Regional Minister John.
  When pedestrian walk ways are used as selling grounds forcing pedestrians to share roads with vehicles creating more traffic and the risk to pedestrians, cars/buses/trucks serviceable and unserviceable using the paved walkways for pedestrians as their permanent parking lot and garage ( go to Industrial Area, along Melcom plus road towards ECG Western Area) , just a quick example, I am convinced that we don't need Bloomberg Philantropists to come and assist us in improving safety on our city roads, JD needs to drive around and sack people for obviously not knowing what to do. We do not need Philanthropists, damn Ghana, the bye laws are there . My word of advise to Oko is THE FEAR OF THE LAW ( NOT GOD BUT HIS LAW ) IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM and he needs to preach this to every Accra citizen to understand that he can bite with the law on his side and go running to Philanthropists.

  Most of street lights in Ghana do not function. If you go through the Tema roundabout heading to Dahwneya you will see that Petrol are crossing a T junction which has no straffic light to control the traffic and drivers are conuiously playing cat and mouse games with crosssing fully load petrol tankers. How can this be right and High Ways Authorities turning a blind eye to this major accident waiting to happen. There is no real sewegage system in Ghana. Accra stink ye we have Movicpeak hotel next to slums. Pathetic .
