Corruption Endemic in Africa: Corruption was set up by the colonial overlords who used their western style education to train Africans to be bureaucrats in the civil service. Thus, propagating bureaucracy and corruption to favor the colonialists. This is why Boko Haram for example are livid with the corrupt, number changing, ballot stuffing, nature of these western educated govt bureaucrats in naija. Will Boko haram end up in Ghana? Why not?
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!
2. Enforce the Law: Offenders must face jail time, tickets/fines, sell assets to payback what has been stolen, name and shame offenders in media
3. Put ethical persons in positions of power,
4. yearly revenue audits brief
5.NPP: Narcotic & Pharmaceutical Party, NDC: National Dealers of Corruption(Price Inflators of the national budget, safety pin, toothpick, kenkey, oil, mbaa dross)

Governance under the NDC government is all about deceit and 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun but ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. And as they ask us to tighten our belts for future betterment, they're loosening theirs for immediate consumption. They didn't even respect our intelligence when they said we should wait for a paradise in three years. The truth is that, everything they promise is a mirage and we will never find comfort under them because; they are con-men with con plans.

When giving money to the police, public officials, civil servants etc. before they do their work for which they had begged to be employed for has become respectable just like TIPs freely given to beautiful bar and restaurant attendants, when not giving these gifts on demand to official renders you a social misfit among your co-worker who must be feared,the list can go on-then Africa must really be very deep in the cesspool of corruption if Ghana has indeed virtually earned suma cum laude for not being corrupt.

I just got a document approved by a Public Authority and was promptly notified by text that it was "ready for collection". Another officer, unaware of the notification sent word that the lawyer had not cleared and signed it yet for final approval.there was therefore the need to 'see' the lawyer. When I was not impressed and therefore asked for the lawyer's name,the document was released within a week!

The challenge is we are all purported to be fighting corruption. This is impossible! It is an abstraction. We should be fighting corrupt acts which almost everybody is busily engaged in as as a giver or a taker under benign names. This approach will be specific, with concrete action. Unless we want to continue fighting the abstraction on moral grounds by sending all citizens for an Ignatian single purpose retreat for one year to tackle the sin of corruption from the angle of spirituality. grant the fact that almost every Ghanaian is devoutly religious if one judges from the plethora of bishops, pastors preachers and mosques I see in all street corners, in trotros and in prayer homes .All these upright men are preaching, practicing and converting the Ghanaian by the millions into their gorgeous places of worship built with clean Ghana Cedis.

The two options given above can be equally efficacious, at least I believe so.albeit the second does not seem to be progress fast enough for the Society!

If the Chief Justice herself admits corruption in the Judiciary, that's the worst form of corruption in any nation. If one cannot get justice in one's own country, what else is left of that nation. The point that the Chief Justice missed was that, it isn't just the paralegals working under her Ministry who are engaged in corruption, but the Judges and the Magistrates are engaging in corrupt activities. Both Plaintiffs and Defendants go behind the scenes to pay bribes to the Judges siting on cases. The CJ has a wider nest to cast if she intends to stop corruption in her ministry.

It is not surprising for foreigner to misinterpret the peaceful nature of the citizenry. We are indeed a peace loving and God fearing people due to our diverse cultural backgrounds which attempts to instill high moral values that embraces respect for each other as well as loving our neighbors, even if they are strangers on our land.
This nature, has been the source of our peace and unity and not that we are ignorant of happenings in our own surroundings.
Whoever gathered, or wherever this information was gathered from must go back and tell their sources how wrong the are. We beg that Ghanaians are going through a lot already and for that matter they must give the simple people of the land a break from such lies to score political points. It was a bad decision and wrong timing. Never again must we submit to such lies when the country's coffers has been licked dry with the President himself admitting way back that the bones were even gone. May God help us.
