It would be most unfortunate for respectable persons to be in this situation. Why would you give power to those who look down on you?

Particularly, I know how proud Builsas are of their origin. So to see Afoko being humiliated like this is particularly heartbreaking. I found it terribly humiliating when Afoko was forced to show his ballot at the primaries to prove that he voted for Nana! A man, and especially a Builsa, should never taste such humiliation.

Regardless of whether they are reasonable, viable and value for money or not. Does the NDC government think, despite the massive corruption, they can borrow recklessly and spend their way foolishly into another mandate in 2016, when the nation is over burdened with HIPC and workers wallowing in hunger and over taxed?

Governance under the NDC government is all about deceit and 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun but ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. And as they ask us to tighten our belts for future betterment, they're loosening theirs for immediate consumption. They didn't even respect our intelligence when they said we should wait for a paradise in three years. The truth is that, everything they promise is a mirage and we will never find comfort under them because; they are con-men with con plans.

*Public corruption contributes to currency/cedi depreciation in value. Corruption repels foreign investors from doing business in Ghana. And leaves Ghana dependent on foreign loans to finance growth. The corrupt govt will then steal the loan monies also. What a shame!
*Religious beliefs, Increase in church attendance, reduces your economic growth and financial prosperity! This is a fact!
*Why Corruption Is Endemic in Africa: Corruption was set up by the colonial overlords who used their western style education to train Africans to be bureaucrats in the civil service. Thus, propagating bureaucracy and corruption to favor the colonialists. This is why Boko Haram for example are livid with the corrupt, number changing, ballot stuffing nature of these western educated, African govt bureaucrats in naija. Will Boko haram end up in Ghana? Why not?
SOLUTION:
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!
2. Enforce the Law: Offenders must face jail time, tickets/fines, sell assets to payback what has been stolen, name and shame offenders in media
3. Put ethical persons in positions of power,
4. yearly revenue audits brief
5.NPP: Narcotic & Pharmaceutical Party, NDC: National Dealers of Corruption(Price Inflators of the national budget, safety pin, toothpick, kenkey, oil, mbaa dross)

It was during this period of political vacuum that many of the dollar millionaires were born. Do we need to be told which people the writer has in mind? Can't we see in our minds eye that mother Ghana may have been raped and therefore an investigation may be needed? I put the blame on the citizens of this country. Instead of demanding investigation, they went ahead to vote the same people suspected of corruption into power and now corruption has exploded into alarming proportion and do not expect the present government to take any serious action against it. The writer came to the right conclusion when he said "people see it up there" and they also want to seize the opportunity before it is too late. It is very difficult for the youth to come together and fight for their common interest. I can therefore see in my minds eye that this country has no future.

The manifestation is that in spite of all the huge monies that have come into the hands of this government: taxes, returns from the sales of the nation's commodities, oil sales ( first time ever in the nation's history.) loans and grants. There are no commensurate projects to show for these besides, the country is broke, government is unable to pay sums owed to NHIS, GETFUND, Distric Assemblies Common Fund, and cannot even account for monies it has collected from workers SSNIT contributions. Yet, we have some Ghanaians defending this filth. They are part of the problem. After all this, we are virtually in the dark. How well can we then see the 'Better Ghana Agenda'?

Let us examine ourselves individually and recall how many times we have engaged ourselves in corrupt activities. Every government office you go for some kind of service, you have to part with some money before any service is rendered. It is also true that the scale of corruption among government officials are larger due to the fact they are able to lay their hands on larger sums of money. We should all realize that corruption is a national crises and everyone should play their part in stopping it. There is corruption in every society but in most advanced societies, no matter your party affiliation or your position, unlike the Ghanaian society, the long arm of the law will eventually catch up with you. But here we are with a corrupt Judiciary coupled with weak government institutions. So fellow Ghanaians let us all join in the fight against corruption and desist from always singing the praises of those with enormous amount of wealth and always question where that wealth came from first.

Alban Bagbin a through and through die-hard high ranking NDC juggernaut has had cause to complain bitterly about the heavens come down state of thievery in his Mahama-led NDC gov't. Indeed, most recently he has been making some damning revelations of the thievery or loss of a humongous and staggering amount of $600million dollars in the Mahama-led NDC gov't.
Not to be left out is the former National Security Advisor Brig. Gen Nunoo Mensah who has been pained so much by the outrageous thievery in his Mahama-led NDC gov't that he described the state of thievery in the NDC gov't as having reached epidemic proportions.
Even the Founder of the political tradition called the NDC has had cause to complain that, the level of thievery in his party and gov't has gone overboard, after initiating the principles and discipleship of thievery.
His able wife and Founder of the NDC party as well has also had cause to complain about the state of thievery in the Mahama-led NDC gov't.
The level of thievery has become so entrenched and rampant and common in the Mahama-led NDC gov't that, thievery can be seen here, thievery can be seen there and thievery can be seen everywhere.
The excruciating weight of the thievery of the Mahama-led NDC gov't has become sooo nauseating and sooo mind-boggling some have even gone to describe the Flagstaff, the seat of gov't as having assumed the grotto, indeed, the state of a den of criminals.
Indeed, such is the level of thievery in the Mahama-led NDC gov't and clearly Ghana is a goner from this unmatched, incomparable, unprecedented and alarmingly dangerous and brutal level of thievery by the Mahama-led NDC gov't.

AFRC/P-NDC's operatives went around the country harassing Ghanaians; they plotted the arrest and execution of many innocent people accusing them of corruption, hoarding and profiteering etc. PDCs, WDCs and CDRs were everywhere feeding Rawlings and his gov't with wrong information that led to the arrest of innocent people, some of whom lost their lives, business and properties. Many of these people were the Akan tribes people.

Today the very same people who accused others for indulging in corrupt practises have been caught in the same web, but this time in higher levels of corruption. What kind of hypocrisy is this; was the 1979 revolution necessary at all? That's the question I've always asked. And today, Rawlings is mute; he can't talk. He is the one who accused ex-Prez. Kuffour of corruption. Where are we heading towards as a nation, when the NDC and its apparatchiks would steal from national coffers through dubious deals and judgement debt etc., while the use vile propaganda to confuse unsuspecting Ghanaians. Now they're trying to use the racial card to destroy the NPP, by a said tape recording from NPP's Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo. Funny! I hope this time around Ghanaians will be wise.

Yeshuah (Jesus the Christ stood by the truth and look at how far He is positioned in heaven. Speak out even if we should dis-ban both main parties for the indulgence of its members and declare them unfit to be in any governmental positions again. The time is now to make the necessary correction no matter whom it would affect. There are a lots of qualified citizens who can start the steering of affairs of this nation with honesty. People who tasted politics and were found wanting were executed by Flt. Lt.Jerry Rawlings and and yet still the reason for that punishment has surfaced again because the wrong method of correction was taken. Come out boldly with the truth and supporting evidence to disgrace, retrieve stolen monies and ban them from organizing any political parties or holding any government positionsin their lives again. Also their immediate family members should be banned from governmental position for a lengthy period of time. We need to stretch them apart like chewing gum. And then predictably, you cowards will try to push the nation into anarchy as you nearly did when you lost the last elections. This time you won't have it easy. You'll be smoked out and made example of what happens to sworn nation wreckers. Anyway . . . .

By conservative estimates, if your boss had even used 50% of the funds that Western donors made available to the country during his tenure for what they were intended, the country would've been in a better shape.

For example what happened to the the almost $600-million Millennium Fund that was supposed to boost the agriculture industry Kuffour systematically destroyed in favor of cheap and unhealthy Western products dumped on us?

How much money was brought into the country as a result of Kuffour's demonetization and how much was distributed?

You're dishonest and evil for not leveling with Ghanaians that Kuffour established Programs such as NHIS, School Feeding etc as conduits for his people to steal money because he knew they were financially unsustainable. In fact in some cases, monies earmarked for communities were never received but officially reported otherwise. And we have proof.

The late Dr. Rocco Frimpong of Ghana Commercial Bank paid for the thievery of Kuffour and Co in 2007 because he had in a way objected to the withdrawal of large sums of physical cash by the NPP administration for the payment of the said programs instead of cheques. In fact Bawumia was appointed the Governor of the Central Bank to facilitate such transactions and the cover up.

Another example of Kuffour's thievery is awarding road construction contracts to the Chinese. While the Chinese are very adept at "Kickback" schemes, they're careful to ensure these schemes don't affect their profit margin. So if you award them a 100m-dollar contract and they figure their profit to be $10m (which means they can execute the contract for $90m) and you ask for and receive $10m kickback, they will execute an 80m-dollar contract which will definitely be a far cry from the original contract. The Chinese are not constrained by any "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act" with their severe sanctions unlike their Western counterparts. The Chinese are all over Africa and other emerging countries because our corrupt leadership ask for kickbacks and the Chinese are too happy to oblige. That's why Chinese-executed contracts are mostly marked by shoddiness. That's what exactly happened under Kuffour and Ghanaians are witnesses to the decrepitude these roads have fallen into just over a few years.

Oil? Forget about it! Any person who thinks Kuffour is not a wicked thief, should go and read the agreement with COSMOS--and the formation of COSMOS. Kuffour rushed the country into oil production precisely because of what he and his cronies were going to get and not because he loved his country as some mentally-retarded supporters claim.

Awuni, I'm sorry but you and Bawumia are the very reasons why the NPP will spit on, kick, and call your folks pejorative names.
