It is unfortunate how we debate issues without facing the facts and contributing realistically to the issues.

The moral fabric of Norwegians is unlike that of Ghanaians. They obey and respect law and order irrespective of their political divide so they do not have problem to support a policy that is of common interest. They don't eat on-the-go and drop wrappers and containers along the way and turn around to blame the government. For Ghana to develop rapidly and beautifully it would take Devine intervention to rehabilitate the moral ethics and spirits of Ghanaians.

If the Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo in the Western Region the Minister states will help to minimize if not eradicate the energy crisis and enhance the economy, as well, is a fact why don't people argue to prove him wrong but insult. The minister should provide a list of all loans, the related projects, stage of completion, repayments being made , economic benefits or even the social benefits. We need an analysis of the proportion of gdp used to finance the debt, education, health, housing and investment or job creation.

We have to discard the idea of big government and use prudent measures such a small but effect government. The idea of "all nations borrow" so we should do the same is weak and silly. We have oil in addition to several natural resources and have we been able to meander our way through treacherous and dangerous waters with the revenue accruing from them? NO. Why? Because we are not cost conscious. We need home-based painful prudent cost cutting measures to ease our troubling economy. Inviting the IMF will force us to swallow that painful pill which we are afraid to do ourselves.

We have educated people who are good at theories but practical wise, no and never and that is why we are in this big mess.

Your expectation of GDP growth does not consider the uncertain global economic outlook the way forward.
If you are in the process of implementing some of the above,why are you so sure weather they can forestall additional borrowing and unleash our nation from excessive borrowing and its consequent economic stagnation?
What preventive measures have you put in place to ensure that revenue accruing from the self-financing projects do not find themselves in the belly of the managers of the SOEs so debt servicing and eventual liquidation will not be jeopardized?
With all the financial resources at the disposal of the government why is Ghana entangled by hydra-headed socio-economic problems?
