The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.

This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

If anything at all, we know that Kuffour and his NPP erected the Keta sea defence wall which Rawlings only persistently paid lip service to; introduced school feeding program; national health insurance scheme and free maternity care for pregnant women, all of which tremendously benefited us Ewes!! By the time Rawlings was leaving power, Volta Region was the poorest among all the ten regions in the country.

To me, Ewes must wake up and be prepared to work with any govt that has our interest at heart, no matter what party forms that govt. That is why I have singlehandedly taken it upon myself to campaign among Ewes to reject NDC in Election 2016. We are living in the fool's paradise by allowing NDC to continue to tag us the its "World Bank of Votes".

You complain when you lack solutions, otherwise you walk away "matemewo" instead of you forcing yourself into where you are not welcome. What folks like Okoampa Ahoofe dont know or understand since he had been out of the country for so long like wise old man Osafo Marfo is that these days the young generation from 30s and below are inter marrying and inter dating like crazy.

So that puritan Akan, Ga, Ewe, North thing is fast disappearing esp for those in the large cities hence when you offend one you have intermittently offended many. The NDC is keenly aware and have done a better job containing their men from making ungaurded statements that are capable of doing damage.

The sad truth is there some tribalism in every one just like racism, the difference is how we make others feel around us. Sady most of the ppl that voted for the NDC did not vote for the NDC because they believed the NDC is better than the NPP. They did so because they couldnt tolerate some of the people and their unguarded statements like that of Osafo Marfo.

Sorry, but it does not add up. The fact still remain the truth and no one can change it. We Akans have come to understand certain ongoings in our country and we will fight against it.

It is 1000 % true that it is not Akans who are rulling over their selves and also not Herr over their natural resources. All coments do not hold because you can go to Volta Region and take a land declare it as your own simply because you are a Ghanaian.

Akans need to secure their interest and it is about time we stand bold to tell the true history to our selves and children in order to secure our future.

Yes, the PNDC and NDC under JJ left the VR very much destitute! There are many reasons for that, one being the accusations of tribalism against JJ. But was sort of tribalism was JJ and the people you mentioned practising when they were not chanelling more resources to their own region but to others, including the Ash/R where the loudest claims of discrimination against its people come from? You see, you blokes simply didn't understand the meaning of tribalism.

So what had Prof Awoonor and Kojo Tsikata done for you also to tag them as tribalistic, simply some Akans have been saying so?

When Kufuor formed the Reconciliation C'ttee, was it only Akans who appeared before it to narrate their grievances? Did you read that even the late Anlo Awoamefia, Torgbui Adeladza II, was slapped and nearly killed by soldiers, some of whom were Ewes?

BTW, Kufuor had no choice than to complete the Keta Defence Project which was already far advanced in execution when the NPP took over. Funding was already secured. In fact, Kufuor cut down the project scope, removing the intended harbour, just as it did for many projects already initiated by the NDC which they took over.

And did not NPP, led by Akuffo Addo, lead demonstrations against the VAT and GES Funds in which some Ghanaians lost their lives? Where do you think the funds are coming for the school feeding programme, school building projects, scholarships even though misguided use of the GES Funds which must be stopped, etc., etc.?

Look, Osafo Marfo's ethnocentric outburst is simply the core beliefs of most NPP members with Akan origins. And you shld know Ewes are the main target of their false claims and misguided attacks. You must first find out whether their claims are correct before trying to convince any Ewe not to vote for the NDC. I don't like the NDC either, since I am an Nkrumaist but cldnt even convince my Nkrumah loving mother and siblings to vote for the CPP. They said they didn't want to waste their votes, since their were too many Nkrumaist parties which shall split the Nkrumaist votes. I have no choice than agree with them.

They're the ones who drew our border lines, but we have lived peacefully as brothers and sisters until Mr. Rawlings and his AFRC/P-NDC gov't came. They targeted the Akan tribes people; they perceived them to dominate Ghana's business and everything and set out to neutralize them. It's no secrete what Rawlings and his henchmen did to Akans, most of whom were executed, murdered, while properties and businesses belonging to them were confiscated under horrible circumstances. Rawlings and his men said they were corrupt. Today, NDC ministers and scouts have been caught in various corruption scandals, that set new standards in Ghana's political history. The NDC is trying to outwit people by using the tribal card; they're the very people who're practicing it---it's a fact! The NPP need to educate Ghanaians about this dangerous thing as I've always pointed out. Don't allow NDC to use vile propaganda to destroy NPP's quest to win power and rescue Ghana from economic hardships under the NDC's rule. This new strategy by NDC should be defeated! Akans are not tribalistic. There're Zongo and Ewe communities in all Akan cities or towns, big or small. Don't allow anyone to spread lies and cause confusion in the country with this tribal snare. Mr. Osafo Marfo didn't make any comments; it's all manufactured by NDC, just as they did to NPP's Northern Regional leader.

The argument that the speech had been "rearranged" is quite incredible and only adds to this man's problems. What our politicians need to learn is that if you do anything wrong and / or are 'caught on tape or in the act', you are best served by confessing, showing remorse and trying to limit the damage from then on.

Advice: Any attempt to twist the facts only make your situation worse.

From what we are reading from this press statement by Mr. Osafo Marfo's Special Assistant - Mr. Bediako Mamfe, the meeting was held way back in January 29th 2015, why would the said informant or whatever wait and come out with the tape not until the recent "Won Gbo" demonstration staged by NPP as a party and the real people of Ghana who are feeling the disastrous economic management of this barbaric NDC administration?

From every indication and the lapse of time before the release of the tape smells rat. That been said whether it has been doctored or not, Ghanaians buys into false nonsense than factual comments. In the 2012 presidential elections, can any NDC fanatics quote what Mr. Mahama said in Northern Region when he was campaigning for votes and tell me that was not tribally sentiments? Folks, we are tired of all these hypocrisy which has eaten into our core fiber. Many physical, economic social and spiritual atrocities has been visited to many Akans by this blood hounded party - PNDC/NDC since its inception in the early '80's. Was it not the barbaric bastard son of whore (Rawlings) who brutally orchestrated the killings of 3-Akans Judges and A Retired Military Officer? Were any tribe among these innocent people? How about seizure of assets and killings of Akans by this reckless party which is in our mist?

NDC fanatics should know that it is crystal clear that their saint that bastard sowed the seed of hatred, got fools to watered it and now it has bear fruits which we are all enjoying. Akans are not going to sit down for some unscrupulous people to ride on us and take our leniency to be our weakness. If we were previously in darkness now we have seen the light and will call a goat by it's name and likewise cow by it's name and not vice versa.

However, this is a SAD phenomenon that has existed throughout history and sadly still exists in many parts of the world - Minorities always ruling the Majority. This should stop. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah tried to solve this problem by (wrongly) suggesting his One-Party State. His aim was to eliminate tribalism and institute probity and accountability in politics where parliamentarians would be elected on their own merit. His mistake was that only members of one party (CPP) could be candidates for election. That was wrong, but instead of coming up with improvements, the UP (NPP) shot down the idea and removed Nkrumah from power.by force of arms
Rawlings tried something similar with his Local Governments and the CDRs. He did not succeed. The best solution I think is: create Autonomous States: Akan States including the Afram-Volta-Oti Basin with Sub-divisions; Northern States (Upper West, Upper East, Central); Trans-Volta States; and Ga-Adangwe States, all with their own State Governments. These States will then elect and send representatives to the National or Central Government. The States should have EQUAL representation in Parliament (no matter their size), for example 5 representatives from each state. Every State will manage its own resources but will be compelled to pay a percentage of their revenue to The National Government, for example, 39% of their total resource revenue but not the taxes of their citizens. No State government will be allowed to sign any agreement with a foreign government without approval from the National government. I will continue. Please make your suggestions.

What he is alleged to have stated is the Gospel truth,and only people suffering from dementia would deny it. It is a clarion call for the Akans to rise up and be counted in the current scheme of things. The Akans must abandon their unsolicited hospitality to the other tribes.
After all, our gold, diamonds and cocoa, and now oil have been used to give the other tribes enough education. The Ewes have had a president, and the northerners have also got a president, and these are signs of maturity, and they must be left to galvanize the resources in their regions for their regional development.
The Akans are now demanding proportional distribution of the national cake based on the regions contribution to the national cake.
Osafo Marfo owes no apology to anybody, and those who don't understand him can go to hell. If it means fighting to assert our rights, we shall do so without fear or favour.

The Volta region through the volta lake has powered industries n homes for decades in Ghana, we all know of all the agricultural potential of the north. All these are exported via the sea which the people of greater accra have in abundance - these people also have allowed their home to be used as the capital..giving out lands in the national interest. and so on, EVERY CITIZEN CONTRIBUTES...that being said this is how RWANDA started! i rest my case.
