It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Instead of all hands on deck to come out of the situation, so when the ship sinks, you also go down with the ship. For that matter, NDC, NPP, CPP, PNC etc..should come together as one Nation to find solution to the Energy crisis in the country. We should start with sports scholarships instead on wasting money on to travel to watch black stars etc.

I am really elated that at least our leaders are waking up from their sleep gradually because at least they are starting to know and understand that Solar is becoming the quick and long term fixes for the energy crisis.Just seek audience with the Governor or New Jersey and other Governors and they will tell you how they enjoying the benefits of Solar so they keep expanding everyday.Even at our recent round table meeting with the CEO of company in Pennsylvania he mentioned that the Board had concluded that we are also switching to Solar.So far many companies in America are switching to Solar.Check it out chain stores such Kohls has already gone Solar,most New Jersey traffic lights and government buildings have already gone Solar,most new homes being built are already retrofit solar etc.so I am really happy that our leaders are getting it that always waiting on the rains is an old school thinking that has not and will not take us no where.Now they are also realising that govt,govt,govt can not be supplier of electric and water so privatization is key to allow several folks to jump in to bring more competition while govt regulates and taxes.Look at what happened when JJ privatized mobile phones,Telecom,Radio and Tv etc.initially folks were against,doubtful and fearful because were not used to the word private because that was how Nkrumah brain washed the people that everything must be govt.but today look around JJ's privatization is paying off big time.First it creates jobs,builds self esteem,opens up the economy and bring in more revenue.Yes all past regimes really just managed ENERGY it is about time to fix it for the long term not short term and for 25 million people but project for 100 million people create more surplus and reserves that is how America plans they plan 50 to 100 years ahead so America believes in surpluses and reserve.Now look America with a population of 320 million has become the world's leader in crude oil and world leader in propane gas.They saw ahead how nations were always trying to use oil to cripple the world so they did not just manage the canker but fixed it.Now even most newer American cars now do not depend on oil but electric and even those 4 x 4 vehicles and cars coming out now most now use 1 gallon for 40 to 50 miles so just imagine gone are the days when American cars used 1 gallon for 2 to 10 miles.America has also become the world's number 1 in research etc.so I am happy our leaders are waking up.What is left now is how they can stop the stealing and use that money to better the lives of all the people and just think about themselves while majority live in abject poverty.They should start thinking about the aged,the sick,the mothers etc.and quit stealing to go and deposit them outside but still say they love their nation.No American,German,British etc President will ever steal for anything because they really love their nations.

This is a political talk, if not gimmick. Something to fill time, because Article 67 demands the President to bring a State of The Nation Address.

Who says the people working in parliament cares about you? I maintain that If you were sitting at a bus stop and a politician [be it the President, MP or minister for transport, or some other] comes along and promises you that he has put a bus on that road link and so be patient and a bus would come by, sorry, better start walking because you would never find the bus.

Even if you are fortunate that the promised bus comes along, you can be sure that it would be full with his family members and friends. There won't be space on it for you, unfortunately.

If we in Ghana aren't even able to manage the infrastructures our nation acquired at Independence and an uprising turns chaotic, violent or even into war and we end up destroying what we have which we aren't able to manage, then we're going to set this nation aback to some 400 years in this modern era.

Listen, if you never heard. During the war in Liberia one of the stupid things the rebels did was to shoot at street lamps and destroy the lights because that amenity was provided by Doe's government.

Today what do we see? Aside of the huge national problems that country is now facing, some parts of the capital, Monrovia, are still without common street lights. What folly?
