Author:-Mahmoud...If we may ask, is the NDC new party school another communist ideological institution? The Young Pioneers implanted by Nkrumah in our midst did more harm than good to the development of this country when they usurped power from 1972 to 2001.

Our experience with the quack neo-communists is that, they seize power unjustifiably through coups and counter coups, and Ghanaians only suffer dictatorship, tyranny, corruption and economic mismanagement under them. Being in power now for six years, the NDC has failed again to improve the economy simply because their fundamentals are wrong. In fact, they don't have what it takes to salvage the sinking economy.

Under normal circumstances, political parties are formed to produce leaders democratically. But in the case of NDC, a tyrant created the party with state power and resources to legitimize his illegitimate regime and cling to power fraudulently. NDC is therefore, an artificial and illegitimate party followed by stomach politicians and sycophants.

Below is the worst NPP load shedding record in 2007. It shows that, it its worst, Ghanaians were having three days of light and one day without light unlike the opposite we are having now.

Now we have 12 hours of light and 24 hours without light. If we have what we were having in 2007, Ghanaians would now say there is no power problem.

The water level at Akosombo dam during that time was even below the minimum 240 feet. The water level at Akosombo at that time was 236.66 and only two turbines were in operation compared to 244 feet we have now and 4 turbies still working out of six. Ndc has failed Ghanaians.

"The new schedule reduces the amount of time which customer groups can enjoy electricity from a 12 hour period of black out once in five days to a 12 hour period of black out once during the night and another 12 hour black out period once during the day every four days."

That was in March 2007

Congratulations to President Mahama on his state of the union address. However I missed hearing about the plan being developed by the Government of Ghana to build nuclear power plants for electricity generation in 2018. The traditional sources of power generation as noted during the address will inevitably leave Ghana’s overall energy needs woefully inadequate for the foreseeable future. I therefore urge the president to support the nuclear energy bill and work diligently with the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission to facilitate the plan. It is time to go beyond research and nuclear medicine applications of the nuclear program to electric power generation.
Second, the plan to construct several hospitals in Ghana is laudable, yet I think Ghana also needs several acute care hospitals or facilities within the planned hospital mix. These facilities should be dedicated specifically to the care of trauma patients and distinct from primary care. The reasoning is that each year many Ghanaians die needlessly or are severely injured from motor vehicle/cycle collisions, gunshots, knife wounds, burns, mangling of hands/feet and the like. There are just too few acute care hospitals/facilities or emergency services in the country whose primary purpose should be to save lives under such dire circumstances. Since the majority of these injuries are unintentional, it makes sense to have dedicated trauma centers placed at strategic locations throughout the country. This is critical because about 90% of all trauma deaths and injury-related disabilities in the world occur in developing countries, including Ghana. The “Essential Trauma Care” program initiative in Ghana should serve as the scaffold and properly aligned with the proposed new hospital chains. The bell tolls for you and me!
