The right to lawful assembly is guaranteed and is a right in a democracy.
Is there any law that prevents the lawful assembly of the group calling itself Concerned Ghanaians seeking to demonstrate on Independence day?
The threat to freedom of expression posed by the security apparatus of the state is a creeping menace that has the potential to corrode the principles underlying our democracy and needs to be reined in.

Even in the UK and US you seek permission from the police to demonstrate and assemble so stop writing this North Korea nonsense and intimating that African governments are eroding democracy. PLEASE i will appeal to every single soul with an opportunity to comment on public issues should please do that with some level of caution and responsibly. will should not let our emotions control our genuine concern in our opinion expressions. You are one out of millions of Ghanaians who had the opportunity to voice your opinion and for this reason you would want to be careful not to offend the numerous of the ghanaians without this opportunity. Iam just appealing, please do not insult the president just like you will not want to insult your pastor or imam non matter what. you and i has no moral right or what so ever to insult the president, elder and even our colleagues.
