The Prima Donnas of the NPP party needs to shut up. For some of us independent voters, we are sick and tired of your incessant personal attacks on the EC chairman. He's arrogant, he's this, he's that. So are most NPP leaders. I have seen many occasions where the flag-bearer has looked down his nose at Ghanaians. Remember Nana Akuffo Addo and his inability to connect with ordinary Ghanaians? As much as he wants and has tried to win the presidency, he has not been able to appear humble and vulnerable to appeal to the ordinary voter. So, why doesn't the NPP concentrate on making Nana Addo more appealing? Dr. Afari Gyan is well versed in the language of the constitution. He operates under the law of the land and does not need the NPP dictating how he does his job. So quit the insults and innuendos already. Losers.

Hehehehe! NDC apparatchiks feel peeved by Hon. KT Hammond's remarks. I heard some of them asking the NPP whether Justice Atuguba was bribed this time for ruling in favour of Mr. Benjamin Eyi Mensah? Well, folks should understand that Atuguba didn't have a choice; he could afford to repeat the mistake he committed in the previous petition filed by Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

By now Atuguba must be grappling with accusations and the flak he received from the people, in his judgement and insincerity to the Ghanaian electorate in the 2012 elections. It takes a tragedy or a catastrophic mistake to learn from their mistakes.

Afari-Gyan, on the other hand is adamant; he believes he's got the power to do whatever he wants in the electoral system, which allows certain party to cheat the system. Had Mr. Eyi Mensah been an NDC candidate, Afari-Gyan would have allowed him to submit his papers. Atuguba has realised that any bad decision could spark off chaos in the country.

He has always taken much credit for successful elections, winning recognition worldwide. Taking responsibility again this time for the cancelled DA elections should not evoke any ill-feelings.
I take exception however to Hon
K.T.Hammond characterizing the commissioner as arrogant. Parliament, the legislative arm of government wields tremendous power but there would have to be responsible use of that power. I'm more concerned about the inflammatory tone of the public discourse and it's my belief that the lawmakers and all politicians can help significantly to re-set the out of whack tone. The characterization of the embattled EC boss by Hon. K. T. Hammond as arrogant is unfortunate and I wish it never happened because it is a bad example in civil discourse. It's not only parliamentarians who are guilty of using offensive and inflammatory language and before the tone can be reset nationwide it must begin from the top to trickle down to the bottom rungs of society. Top public servants who refuse to set a better example in public discourse must be compelled to take anger management class and a course in civility. This way I believe we can tone down the inflammatory tone of the public discourse. We can agree to disagree without being disagreeable.
