tolerance be extended to the president and his government.This is not likely to work because Ghana has a peculiar problem.Besides gradually drifting into a two party state the two major parties the NDC and NPP are overly political and engage in destructive politics in an attempt to undermine each other with the party in power worse hit.That is why 'The Winner Take All System of Governance' is flourishing.Besides,there is no denying the fact that politico-tribal politics informed by ethnic prejudice and discrimination has taken the better side of Ghana's politics.Even in public institutions issues of National discourse and importance are interpreted through a tribal and political lens.Die hard tribal bigots who are most often overly political will never see anything good in the northern president John Mahama.They are also the ones who engage in blatant and vicious nation wrecking activities such as corruption to willfully undermine the government.Many raised an eye brow when Appiah Denkyira the Director General of Ghana Health Service straight away dismissed doctors working at Effia Nkwanta hospital in less than a month of assuming post by shamelessly conspiring to dubiously fabricate a mental illness on them.One was Ewe and the other a northerner who rightly complaint and reported corruption killing and maiming patients in that hospital whiles the management illegally enrich themselves.The Medical Director Dr Ntodi labelled these two doctors as NDC sympathizers just because they insisted on the right thing in a public institution where massive corruption and illegalities were on-going.He seems to have a problem with the tribes of the 2 dismissed doctors when he said he a'westerner' referring to his native tribe Wassa will not allow northerners and ewes to dictate to him what to do and will definitely ensure they are sacked if they don't leave the hospital.The obvious truth however was he was simply paranoid about the 2 doctors who spoke against wanton corruption he presided over.It was in this hospital a teenager by name Patience Sakpetey died because she could not pay a bribe of 50 ghana cedis for blood transfusion among many other illegalities aimed at extortion and looting.Appiah Denkyira who was given a crucial role as DG GHS decided to act in a bizarre manner by dismissing the doctors clearly on grounds of nepotism and politics to cover rot perpetuated by his Akan cronies instead of instituting investigations on reported corruption.Many letters were written to relevant state institutions to expose a DG who was filthy corrupt and indulge in dirty politics in a public organization.At least three petitions were send to the presidency by workers including doctors calling for inquiry into wrongful dismissal of the doctors, reported corruption,nepotism and dirty politics in the GHS.We heard of presidential decree requesting inquiry into activities at Effia Nkwanta but it died a natural death probably because of the involvement of Alban Bagbin then Health Minister who was copied with letters technically dismissing the doctors through an indefinite suspension.Bagbin happens to be one of the vociferous and ardent critic of the president but this case exposes him as a hypocrite and an opportunist because he had details of written reports of the corruption in Effia Nkwanta but sat on them to legalize an illegal act by Dr.Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira who turn the doctors into scapegoats to cover the scam in the hospital.The GHS refused to enter defense following a suit at the Fast Track High Court resorting to rough tactics to suppress the case that have been pending since 2012 because they know they have skeletons in their cupboard.Why a Presidential decree requesting inquiry into reported corruption in that hospital came to a halt cannot be fathom.Whether it was a deliberate or an unfortunate act of commission or omission one cannot tell.The chickens are now coming back to roost with an Attorney General Report indicting the hierarchy of Ghana Health Service of 8 million financial malfeasance once again embarrassing the Mahama Government.We are talking about a colossal 80 billion old Ghana cedis tax payers money looted into individual accounts for no work done.Some of us believe this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the magnitude of corruption and the astronomical wealth workers make through illegal deals within the shortest possible time in GHS.The president may refuse to heed to advise or chose to listen to the wrong advise but he should never take information from the grassroots for granted.Jerry Rawlings himself was effective in fishing out nation wreckers and saboteurs of his government because he took information from grassroots on corruption serious and acted swiftly on it.The President can only do this by being in touch with the grassroots himself not through corrupt intermediaries who keep vital information away from him.Thanks he suddenly woke up from a deep slumber by effecting key changes at the Flag Staff House.

Look at the monies he got from STX and the planes he bought for the army which warranted the institution of a commision by Mills to investigate him. Who knows how much kickback he will get from our despiration for power. He is making deals which are noy going to benifit is in the future. Why should we rent bardges when we can buy them cheaply?
