I totally agree and I am sure I will also be able to sort this problem in 6 months. The trouble s that we have an incompetent bunch of politicians both in the Executive and the legislative arms of government who are unable to solve problems.
The first thin now to generate income through reducing the wages of all in government by 50 percent. Bring all the best energy experts in Ghana together in an emergency seminar and lock them in a resort in to debate and find means of resorting this issue. I don't mean the small boys in government who had no experience after University and were appointed to make decision for over 20 million people. You could even look to experts in the diaspora, and I don't mean those who are interested only in titles but those who can brainstorm. That is how solutions are found, not in abundance of speeches and promises.

Prof Martey, with all due respect, governance is not the same as preaching or sunday sermon. You have many aspects of things on your plate to consider as a president. All the ministries require attention some more, others less depending on current burning issues. As it stands now our energy resources has been a problem that has accumulated over the years and cannot be wished away like a switch.

You cannot put all the money you have borrowed into energy that is ridiculous. Governance is not similar to sunday Sermon. And were it to be that simple, JM would have sort it out.

Look, I have had more than two decades dealings with some of the big players of the U.S power industry -G.E, Cooper Power,Westinghouse,Schneiders,just to name a few - and although the long lead times you cite is the norm industry-wide,what were these lazy and over-paid officials waiting for,and then promising unrealistic timelines to boot? What change has the departure of Awotwe[the previous headman at the VRA, after more than a year ago]brought to this 'Dumsor' debacle?

Sorry to say most of his trustful appointees are from his native north and it seems to me they are all in court or under investigation. What saddens me most is the young kayaye women who are all from the north. Most of the armed robbers caught or lynched are from the north. Npp decided to create northern development agency to bridge the gap between the south and the north. These vampires stole the idea and gave it a different name SADA. This institution was being managed by northerners but where is it now. NSS was in the hands of a northerner yet multimillion ghana cedis has gone to some individual pockets. Even solar power which is easier to build will take at best 1 yr to build anything close to 30MW.

Common Sense dictates that the present generations are the ones to build the Country(lay the solid foundation)for the future generations to Continue from where we left off. IT IS NOT THE FUTURE GENERATION WHICH SHOULD START FROM THE BEGINNING TO BUILD THE COUNTRY.
So why is the Executive and the Legislature bereft of this Simple Common Sense Approach to resolve the erratic Electricity problems,and looks on while Businesses,Industries Collapsed,and the whole Nation (people) Suffers while our leadership worship the Oil Reserves in figures on paper ! It does not make Sense to me !
