The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.

This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

The fact is that Muslims erroneously see the mission schools as a threat to the spread of Islam but they refuse to know that what they are fighting for will eventually lead to the monumental growth of the Scripture Union( Since SU don't need space and time to practice their faith), Occultism( which will be more attractive to Muslim youth like SAKAWA) and Religious strife( since Muslims will like to use unorthodox means to suppress the spread of Pentecostalism in Muslim schools).

Is it fair to exempt people who have toiled their whole lives pursuing the cause of a Islam to be exempted from enjoyment in the hereafter because of the colour of their skins? I think some of them have sacrificed a lot by abstaining from wine in order to prepare their throats for the Great Beyond where there are rivers of wine flowing(Sura47:15; 76:5&21; 83:25-29). It is also unfair to deny black African access to the Islamic heaven where there are a lot of Marriages and Sex. (56:10-22,35-38). The lowliest of the inhabitants of the Islamic heaven will have 72 wives- I am wondering how much wives will the district and regional chief Imams will get and how many our good old Sheik Sharubutu will also get. Hmmmmmmm

An Islamic tradition has it that whiles prophet Muhammed and his followers were searching for water a pig came from no where and led them to a fountain of water. This should sound splendid and pleasant to the ear, isn’t it? In fact it is a lie( TAQQIYYA) from the pit of hell. Well if you know the sort of hatred Muslims have for pigs one will begin to wonder if what the Islamic scholars are saying is true or not. In fact if you want to see how Muslims hate pigs with passion you let a pig stray towards a Mosque and it is there you will know you are dealing with demons in human form. Recently in Egypt when there was an outbreak of swine flu, authorities there wiped out pigs from the face of that land even when scientificc evidence by the WHO suggests that swine flu has nothing to do with pigs. The question then is why and the answer is simple. A reliable tradition has it that when Muhammed died his partly decomposed body was placed in a tent pending further consultation with the Muslim Ulma to decide whether to secretly bury him and claim the angels carried him to heaven through Jerusalem or bury him near a Mosque. While consultations were going on a pig sneaked through the other side of the tent and consumed a sizeable portion of the partly decomposed body of the prophet. This is why Muslims hate pork with passion.

Unfortunately, many of us are way so tightly sentimentally attached to those flawed and dangerous notions that it requires a persistent, extended persuasion by our Political leaders to diffuse those ideas.

Such is why Akufo-Addo should have long apologized for his 'All die be die.."yen Akanfo de.." ' remarks. Yet, we are still waiting to hear any such apology. No one is above reproach. And it takes courage to concede an error, and wisdom to correct it.

Anyone who recognizes he or she made a mistake but refuses to acknowledge and apologize, does not deserve to lead a Nation. Period! It takes valor shrouded in humility to concede mistakes. It takes wisdom to correct those mistakes. And only those with these qualities deserve to lead us. It is not the loud promises of utopia that solves problems of a Nation. It is not the frequent pointing to the other's flaws, while one suppresses the exposure of his or her own that necessarily guarantees the Masses any better lives. It is the total submission to serving them all with honesty, humility, and without bias that settles the fears and anxiety of a worried Nation like Ghana.

There is still time for our political leaders, including Akufo-Addo, to understand and follow these principles to draw our collective enthusiasm for our votes for the next Elections. But time is of the essence. Soon, it would be too late, and any such late efforts to do as suggested above would be seen only as a desperate ploy to win undeserving votes.

Let's be honest, Muslims have always been treated with second class respect in Ghana. Now they seem to have found a voice and are fighting back.
However, there's something in me that does not trust the muslim to do the right thing when given the chance.

This can only be settled the amicable way. You get equal rights but also learn to respect others not the sharia way but the human common sense way realising no one has the absolute right of wisdom and understanding but a shared value of life.
Politicians have to be part of this process and not out of it.
When the NPP keeps taking a muslim as a vice candidate without the chance to be a complete president, ain't you perpetuating the bias. Address the defect in your party first before telling us what and what should not be done.

Muslims should always sow good seeds to bear good fruit. If they invest in Mecca they will only reap titles like Alhaji and Hajia and they would not have enough money to build good quality schools for their children and the end result is that a lot of their youth will end up in prison and a sizeable number will become Kayayes as is currently the case in Ghana. Muslims should also learn to sacrifice a bit to pay their zakat instead of the usual beggarly mentality. I know of a prominent Islamic scholar in West Africa, not Ghana, who vowed never to wear Babanriga( Batakari or parachute apparel) since he claimed it is a waste because the number of yards of fabric that go into one set of Batakari is enough to provide for many needy persons. This is what we call religion from the heart and not that of titles and accolades.

To say that politicians, who are required by their leadership role to make public policy should stay out of an important debate is plain stupid. Religion and spiritual matters affect every society. All one has to look at is what Boko Haram is doing in Northeastern Nigeria to know if these issues are not addressed and dealt with in an honest, vigorous way by honest, good faith public discourse and debate, it might get out of hand.

It never ceases to amaze me how shallow, cowardly and misguided these so-called policital "leaders" are. Who does Nana Addo want to make policy on the issues relating to potential religious conflict, the conflicting parties? Don't we elect leaders to make policy, legislate and enforce our laws so we avoid conflicts? For a lawyer, in fact a former attorney general, one who wants to be president, I would have expected a more thoughtful, insightful and deliberative statement on this issue than this crappy cop-out. We are a sad bunch if people like him take such views. No wonder this country is mired in poverty, disease, hunger, homophobic violence, corruption and general mindlessness.
