We plead with him to do an honest introspection of self and correct himself. Ater all, there is nothing to loose by consulting, rather, that endears you to the generality of the people. It does not take away a modicum of the power your position has bestowed upon you.
Wisdom is not found only in the head of an appointed leader and people are appointed to lead and the best way to lead is to know the desired direction the group wants to go since that is the trust the people have in you hence the appointment.
