As soon as Ruby/Nayali's cocaine is mentioned, NDC says, "you have no such right" and NPP goes to bed. Corruption was NDC's major slogan in 2008 and yet they are doing worst and NPP is relying on Baako Jr and a few shy guys to do their bidding.

I can see Ghanaian youth going on the rampage in less than 10years if this trend continues.

How can Wayome's case be explained to the ordinary man in the street as no corruption?

How come? It is only in Ghana that a Supreme Court decision can be reversed by a lower court decision. We are indeed a Republic of Corruption where justice can be purchased and who gets what judgement depends upon which side of the political situation one stand vis-a-vis the government in power.

I will not be surprised some soldiers are lacing their boots for a coup d'état. Others have been kicked out for a much much lower corruption scandals. This NDC gov't is bad to the bone. They have not brought honour to the country except disgrace and decadence.

The point is Narquaye, Barton Oduro and Betty Mould Iddrisu had set the dice for this day. These are enemies of the state and they belong to Rawlings party, the same guy who killed dozens for much much less offences. I am waiting to hear what he will say now. Don't bother he is as corrupt as them anyway.

It is very clear the gov't Attorney General copied from the same playbook that enabled Woyome to get GHS 51.8 million Cedis in the first place; make a weak and feeble attempt at prosecution of Woyome or make a weak defence of the purse of the state. To have found Woyome fraudulent will have required calling Narquaye or Neequaye, Betty Mould Iddrisu and Kobina Burton Oduro as witnesses or co-conspirators in the dock. Since NDC won't prosecute these guys, Woyome walks for lack of evidence. So he escapes jail, since that was felony, but pay, he must pay the money and wait for the next NPP gov't to come in to lock the thief in jail. Dzimapkla like that. Woyome is a disgrace to all hardworking Ghanaians.

Why would the prosecutor call Osafo Marfo to testify but failed to call Betty Mould Oduro, Ebo Barton Oduro and Neequaye? The AG has done disservice to Ghana. She might make another show of appeal but that is just that, a show, as an appeal will not be a retrial but investigation into whether some errors were committed by the judge.

This case was doomed to fail from the beginning because the prosecutors managed it to ensure that Woyome got away with it. The key people involved in the case such as Betty Mould Iddrisu, Martin Amidu, Mr Tetteh Neerquay and Mr Asimenu were all not called as witnesses for the state. It was just a waste of money and judicial time. It's a disgrace to the Attorney General and the justice system in Ghana.

This judgement does not change the Supreme Court ruling and Woyome should refund the money back to the state with interest. It's as simple as that.

Readers would recall that Betty Mounds was the one who awarded SCHOOL building contracts at a triple price of the existing contract sum of some GH 80,000.00. And this happened at a time when they claim inflation was in the single digits. Could you imargin how foolish these criminal liars were. Kuffour built similar structures with 80,000 at a time when inflation was around 14.8% and under Mills it was 240,000 at a rate of 8.8%. And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. I don't blame those African countries that have been ripped apart by civil unrest because if you have such buffoons in power who always turn our local elections into a West Africa one

For all those Woyome supporters going bonkers with happiness, temper your enthusiasm with the realization that though Woyome was criminally not found guilty of defrauding the state thus avoiding spending time in prison, he still have to pay the state the over $31 million he stole.

The Accra Fast Track Court ruling does not set aside the Supreme Court ruling that said Woyome should return the money.

No court in Ghana is higher than the Supreme Court and cannot overrule its decisions.

The civil ruling by the Supreme Court stands without any effect from the Fast Track court ruling which is a criminal decision.

The state of Ghana should proceed immediately to seize Woyome assets both home and abroad.

This was a criminal prosecution and has no effect on the Supreme Court ruling. The state should move immediately to seize Woyome assets.

I am of the view that the judge took a view of the fact that Mr. Alfred Agbsshi Woyome won the tender to construct stadium and other structures. We stated that having represented the state from the district up to the national level for my department, I knew that the company or person who won a tender is supposed to have a written contract with the state. When the state decides to terminate the tender, it must first compensate the party which own the tender before putting up another advertizement for a tender.

The judge's hands are tide. A judgment by a court of competent jurisdiction, how bad people may perceive it is binding on everybody until it is set aside.

Yesterday we heard from several western presses that the person arrested for the murder of Boris Nemtsov was framed up by the state in Russia.
Is the western press thus making us believe that people who committed murder in the west and are arrested, tried and sentenced are framed up by the states in the various western countries? So when is the western press and government going to put an end to these international absurdities, not at the low level, but at the highest level. Since the crisis in the Ukraine the BBC has been putting up the picture of TU-95 a propeller six story building cargo plane as a bomber and both the British government and the British public have not come out to say that all what was put up there was misinformation. We wrote about doctored pictures from Venezuela, Iran and Syria, put out by the western press and used as propaganda by their governments which have claimed the lives of hundred of thousand of people. Some of the bones printed and video to the world are still alive and kicking.

The Gov't must appeal the case if it does not want to be seen as having just brought the case against Woyome as a charade for doing something about corruption in Ghana.

How many corruption cases has the Gov't brought against its Officials, and how many has it won to send the culprits to Prison?
Hardly any, in both.

I guess we should see Woyome's freedom as a precursor to the massive freeing of all the culprits in the SADA and GYEEDA cases as well. Just as they set the Cocaine-turned-Baking Powder Police Officer free, they will set all these criminals-in-Suits free to let them go on to enjoy their loot of our money.

The Gov't does not seem to want to find these crooks guilty, and only took them to Court to silence its critics that believed it was complicit in the associated crimes.

One of the schemes used by the Gov't Prosecution Attorneys to facilitate the freeing of these criminals is creating some artificial technicalities upon which the Judges could base their discharge of the criminals. An example of such schemes is the Prosecution's sudden loss of evidentiary documents to prove the criminal's guilt. We saw that happen a few weeks ago with those arrested in Ghana as alleged accomplices of Nayele, the Cocaine carrier jailed in the U. K. for 8 years.

It is an ironic evil that the Authorities would fake Prosecution to claim it applied the Rule of Law as required under every Democracy but intentionally would mishandle evidence that is needed to prove the culprit's guilt.

Such is what many of us have ascribed the dangers of partial Democracy and its associated pseudo-Capitalism. In these dual arch presets of a caricature Democracy, certain powerful elements in our Politics manage to suppress the vital, core presets that when allowed to function normally and fully produce real Democracy.

Such Political manipulation of these presets coopts the Judiciary and the Law Enforcement organs of Government which ought to form the last wall of defense for our true Democracy.

In our case, our Country, Ghana, now operates as a fascist Oligarchy. The only democratic features one could identify with Ghana are free Elections (which are even under siege), freedom of Speech, which also simply floats in the air without much consequence other than allowing spurious epithets to be freely exchanged among disagreeing Citizens, and twisted Capitalism that gives freedom to only those in power and with political connections to grab State assets to enrich themselves with impunity.

Our Judiciary often quickly sends a fowl thief to long jail-terms, some as long as half their life, but at its very best only sentences a Political thief who has stolen Millions of Dollars from the State to just as long a jail-term as it would take for the fowl thief to eat the stolen chicken.

Our Procurement and Government Contracts Awards are replete with corruption, mostly under sole-sourcing paradigm in which no other bids would be solicited. Often the corrupt Politicians with their insider-knowledge of impending Contracts would let their Cronies set up Companies overnight, and have them present applications for the sole-sourcing bids--what an oxymoron.

The majority of Ghanaians do not even know about the existence of any legal requirement for the Government to employ Procurement and bidding processes to supply the Nation's basic consumable items, and infrastructural projects. Thus, the Politicians capitalize on the unfortunate relative ignorance of the masses to keep almost all these huge sources of revenue to themselves.

The Chief Justice, has, herself, recently conceded that her Profession is 'studded' with corrupt Judges. The less talk about the complicity of the Police in all these hideous crimes against the State the better.

Where, then, is our Democracy? Where, then, is the vibrant, competitive, Capitalism that such a Democracy is supposed to allow for all of us? Where is the Justice that is supposed to protect us and our Assets?

I am no legal expert either, but what I am trying hard to understand in the judgment is that the High Court has ruled that "It did not see any criminal doing by Mr Woyome in being paid the Judgment Debt".

That seems a bit clear to me.

But now, the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court had ruled that THE STATE WAS NOT RIGHT TO HAVE PAID THAT MONEY TO MR. WOYOME, HENCE THE STATE SHALL RETRIEVE THE GHC52.3m IT PAID ON THE HIGH COURT'S ORDERS TO MR. WOYOME.

Now, this is where Legal brains need to help some of us who are "laymen".

If President Mahama is not corrupt and good leader he will order Attorney General Department pursue this case and retrieve the money. The donors were right that they have withheld their foreign assistance because of corruption. I am very optimistic that NSS leader, Alhaji Imoro would be set. free as well. I want Rawlings to come out on this issue. Ghana needs another cleaning exercise. When will Ghana see the light? The judges must be truthful with their jobs. With so much stolen money, the states attorney's office was hopelessly compromised and their performance showed their utter incompetence. Legal malpractice is what you might call it. These people have no shame. In Ghana people easily forget do these under-performing attorneys will not pay as steep a professional price as they should. I bet if Martin Amid had done the prosecution in this criminal tris, the outcome would have been different.
