We are talking about somebody who held people at gun point and took their possessions,that is why they called it ARMED robbery,it is different from stealing,he is not a thief but armed robber,get the difference,the law allows the judge to even sentence the armed robber to life in prison if you don't know,you guys are the reason why we cannot get rid of this nuisance called armed robbery,armed robbers deserve death if found guilty not jail time to be fed by tax payers.

It is not the judge who was drunk when passing sentence. It's rather those who fail to see the difference between common thieving and armed robbery, and the severity of the latter as recognised by the laws of the land.

It is rather both sad and concerning that some people are advocating a lenient sentence for the armed robber on the basis of Woyome's case. The two cases are entirely different and independent of each other. The latter is the consequence of the rotten, corrupt judicio-political system we have in Ghana. As for the former, I commend the judge for applying the letter and the spirit of the law on armed robbery.

I can sympathise with the frustration that Woyome's 'non-case' has engendered. But our thinking on the application of law in Ghana must not be clouded by it.

Corney, it is not just armed robbery, it is called aggravated armed robbery. Anytime you introduce any weapon in robbing people, you should know if you are caught, you can spend the rest of your life in prison.

Those condemning this Judge and thinking it is only in Ghana where such a decision could be made shows we are not well informed.

A lot of people take a gun, go to convenience store like 7-Eleven in USA and rob the place for less than $100 and can be sentenced to life in prison especially when you discharge or shoot your gun.

Remember this taxi driver's gun was discharged whether it was his fault or not, he brought the gun into the scene. Those calling this as theft have no clue what they are saying.

Theft is when I am not around and you go into my room and steal my property. Even in this case, if these people have stolen the money, phones and the sand supposedly containing gold dust when if all these items were in a bag and stolen when the victims were not paying attention, it would have been classified as theft but when you use a gun to threaten people to surrender their property, you have elevated your crime to a different level in the judicial system.

Poor Taxi driver has been jailed for 60 years for stealing 1.5million cedis while big thieves like Betty Mould, Kwabena Duffour and Barton Oduro are given higher positions and called honourable.

Where in this world with a dishonourable person like Barton Oduro be in parliament as deputy speaker, only in Ghana.

My only advice to President Mahama is that, if they do not take care and stop the corruption in his government, he will go down as the worst President ghana has ever had. There is a limit to everything and the high unemployed youth in ghana with these corruption, ghana is sitting on a time bomb.

i am Totaly surprise at some of the ghanaian Judges, they are rather destroying human life, how can you sentence human being for 60 years for rubbery and beside its not a murder case, god help ghana
