In the Christian Bible Rev Martey purportedly use to derive his Christian values is a passage that Jesus warned that "through speech and deeds" a community may know who one is. Rev Marty by his own words and politically driven speeches have shown himself not to be a principled man of wisdom and certainly not of God.
God did not grant wisdom, if he ever did, to Rev. Martey for use to promote hatred and bigotry of the worst kind Rev Martey espouses. Members of this Youth group have shown their lack of maturity at the very minimum while they exemplify their loyalties to man and politics instead of God spiritually. The Presbyterian Church like other true religious institutions will survive despite unprincipled leadership the likes of Rev Martey.
Rev Martey was purchased by NPP money; he sings, crows and bow to political money and not to the wisdom of God. God's guidance leads to principled stance which would have obligated Rev Martey to speak forcefully when Kufour was in office on matters of a government that would spend a reported US$70-100 million on Ghana@50 while hospitals in Ghana lacked beds fit for the sick, climate controlled morgues fit for the dead, lack of equipment to aid doctors in the cure of the sick, lack of kitchen and pantry fit for cooking in sanitary and hygiene environment and uninterrupted electricity for Ghana's hospitals.
To Rev Martey and his kind, these shortfalls of the NPP administration can be overlooked because his coffers were full from the offerings of the wealthy NPP donors who make up a bulk of his funding sources; those funding sources dried up under a new political party and he has the human instinct to lash out. Grow up Keskin Owusu, Ato Smith, Mubashir Iddrisu and others for Rev Martey is not God and is not the Presby institution; he is a faulty individual who happens to fill current role of a church leader but he is not only unwise but a danger to Ghana.

It is interesting how the Article claims these youths are also pro-Akufo-Addo in their political leanings. As much as I vehemently abhor how the current Government is taking the Country, there are certain protocols by which religious leaders are supposed to follow in identifying even Government faux-pas.
Other Clergies have been rightly criticizing the President for his handling of the Nation's Economy. They did so more wisely without dabbling in the political nuances that betray them as aligned with any particular Party.
Besides, if Martey himself were any respectful of authority, he would have taken the more respectful channels to impact upon the President to do the right things. Sadly, Martey chose the direct Public humiliation that politicians often use to chastize their opponents. That qualified Martey to be confronted similarly by the political supporters of the President.
So, if Kwesi Pratt followed similarly to confront Martey, he owes the Reverend no apologies. Would the Presby Moderator apologize to the President for any public humiliation his utterances might have caused the Nation's President? If not, he or his congregation does not deserve any apologies from Kwesi Pratt.
The realities of our Politics are what they are. Our leaders, both in the Religions and secular sectors, have long abrogated decency, decorum, and simple mutual respect, and respect for our Institutions. They should all then welcome the harsh reactions from the Public.
As a head of the Christian Council, Martey might have made a greater impact on the President to attempt to ameliorate our situation, if he had organized for the whole Council to meet with the President in an emergency setting to admonish him.
The individual vociferous public chastising of the President by such leading members of the Society as Martey, without any prior attempt by them to engage the President more closely, to possibly offer their better advice, bothers on sheer partisan politicking.
When have these youths consulted with their Chief Priest, Martey, to find ways to augment the Church's efforts to instill morality, like abstinence from Corruption, in their large Congregation? I bet my bottom dollar that the corrupt Officials and other employees of the Government engaging in the massive Corruption choking the Nation include Presbyterians. Hasn't the Moderator noticed a single member of his Congregation who might have suspiciously acquired humongous wealth within a short span of his or her life to wonder how that individual came up with such wealth? Would the Moderator be erring to approach such an individual to find out how he or she got so rich overnight?
The last time I checked, the Presbyterian doctrine still heavily preached the concept of living modestly and not making wealth accumulation the principal goal in anyone's life. A concept that has been wrongly pushed by the Church into the minds of many of their congregation to believe it is wrong to pursue Wealth, instead of teaching them, emphatically, that it is the wrong way of seeking wealth that is sinful.
Let this puerile sounding group and others like them pause to ponder more deeply that so long as they all abandon whatever right, basic, moral principles the Church and Society teach our young when they grow up to scramble for larger shares of wealth, in any way possible, the Country would continue to suffer as we experience now.
I wish these youths had made a solemn pledge to their Chief Priest and God that should they ever occupy any public Offices, they would not even once indulge in Corruption, nepotism, cronyism, graft, etc. That would have raised my hopes for Ghana's redempion and make me and a host of Citizens all the more proud of them than their soliciting for Kwesi Pratt's apology to their Chief Priest.

The holy Reverend could not have acted wisely by dividing the front of the Presbyterian Youth. As the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, he deserves the support of all the Youth of the Church. For him to alienate himself from the Presbyterian Youth who are not affiliated to Nana Akufo Addo shows that something must have gone wrong.
