WHY WILL ANYBODY ADD ''HONOURABLE TO THIS GUYS NAME?

Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Hon. Nii Amasah Namoalo, claims he would have sued the government in court for more money if he were in the shoes of Alfred Agbesi Woyome.

The latter illegally received Ghc51 million from the State in 2010 for his role in the construction of stadia for the CAN 2008 tournament held in Ghana. And for this reason, the Supreme Court, on July 29, 2014, ordered him to refund the money to the state on the grounds that he got the money out of unconstitutional and invalid contracts between the state and Waterville Holdings Limited in 2006 for the construction of stadia for CAN 2008.

But speaking on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma, the MP for La Dadekotopon urged Mr. Woyome to go to court and sue the state for failing to present his contract to Parliament before the money was paid to him.

He accused the New Patriotic Party of masterminding this move when they were power and wondered why they failed to do the just thing by bringing the contract to parliament.

“If the NPP had brought the contract to parliament before the payment was made, the Supreme Court wouldn’t have directed Woyome to refund the money to the state…I wonder what influenced the NPP not to bring the contract to Parliament”, he said.

The Judge used the absence of "key actors" like Betty Mould, Barton Odro and others to set the suspect free.

Assuming this Attorney General SUSPECTED that the above mentioned people collaborated with the suspect, and were therefore "part of the criminal gang", then those people would rather testify in favour of the suspect, instead of the State.
Remember, they refused to file a defence when Woyome went to Court, to claim the judgement debt, although Woyome had no genuine contract to back his claim.
That could explain why they were not called.

The statements of the nine witnesses pointed clearly, that the then government of Ghana did not ask Woyome to go and seek any loan from abroad. And although Woyome says he was dealing with an Austrian Bank, that Bank did not know any such deal with Woyome.

In his defence, Woyome did not produce any kind of CONTRACT, or agreement with the State. He just applied for a "no case" judgement. And he was contradicting himself, causing the hearing to be adjourned.

The judges judgement had no INTERGRITY to it. When a higher court has ordered the repayment based on fraud how can a lower court say otherwise ? The Judge is suspect and must be thoroughly investigated.

Best government lawyers Ghana has to offer will never prevail on fraud charges against Woyome before a court of fair and impartial judges in the world. I challenge Kweku Baako and others to assemble a court of internationally known legal experts to try Woyome on fraud or extortion charges. I guarantee that Woyome would win his case against the state because it would be proven that the government stadium renovation open bid contract was fraudulent and government agents conspired to defraud potential vendors.

Kweku Baako will not and cannot explain how and why government agents gave official government letters of introduction to Woyome to pursue stadium renovation funding sources if there was no official procurement open bid and or Woyome did not win the initial stage of the bid process. Where did Woyome defraud the government if Woyome pursued the government for breach of contract in courts of the state? Was it because all the judges who ruled in Woyome's favor during those processes were ignorant of the laws of the nation or conspirators to defraud the state? The Supreme Court of Ghana in the case of Amidu V Woyome did not rule that Woyome did not participate in the stadium renovation open bid process but that the contract between Woyome and the state was invalid because it did not receive parliamentary authorization.

That comrade Kweku Baako shows sloppiness on the part of government agents for failing to seek requisite authorization from parliament but should not be grounds to punish Woyome for seeking payment for service rendered to the state through solicitations by the bid process under the auspices of a government institution.
