Where was the ministry when Kosmos Energy was sacking its core technical Ghanaian staff ?

The government has no right to tell Tullow who to hire and fire. What a crazy country, no wonder the government salary expense is so bloated, and they borrow to pay workers who are unproductive. Our country is doomed with these kind of leaders. Can these Ghanaians mentioned run the company if Tullow leaves? What has become of VRA now in the hands of Ghanaian engineers and so called planners?

Tullow is a company. Their business is driven by profit. They will keep the best people during this downturn, whether it be Ghanaian, Nigerian, Filipino, or Dutch. They won't keep Ghanaians employed just for the sake of it.

s that he mention is the core area of the oil and gas where the country stands to gain in terms of technology transfer. The oil business is about technology and if the few Ghanaians who have benefitted from the technical trainings are sacked,then when are we going to see Ghanaians take over from the expatriates in the near future.We should remember that the TEN project is around the corner and this is the time to see Ghanaians who have been trained over the past five years actively involved and running the show.We should not forget that a lot of the expactriates are on contract and must leave as soon as their contract ends and be replaced by locals if they have acquirred the full needed skills from their trainings.So if the locals are sacked who will replace these expacts in the long term?
If Ghanaians are not benefitting from the oil money,at least they must benefit from the technology transfer.

When I see pressure grps demo against govt I pity them bcos they are ignorant of the root cause of the problem. We go borrowing when our resources are enough to the spare. 3% for our GOLD ? Are we stupid ? 30% for our telecom for a meagre $940 million ? What abt even our fish in our SEAS ? Foreign vessels scraping OUR sea. And they leave the difficult part for us to solve - the enegy sector etc. Read Gal 3:1-3. They shd sack the workers . Nonsense.
